OKX added Global Dollar (USDG) to its spot market in June 2025, giving traders direct access to a regulated, Singapore-issued stablecoin now backed by roughly $2.55 billion in circulating supply. Nearly a year later, OKX remains the leading venue for USDG spot volume.

OKX published its listing notice on June 9, 2025, scheduling a USDG call auction for June 11, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm UTC. USDG/USDT spot trading opened at 1:00 pm UTC the same day, with withdrawals following at 3:00 pm UTC.

TLDR: Key Points

OKX listed the USDG/USDT spot pair in June 2025 and now ranks first among USDG spot venues by 24-hour volume.

USDG is issued by Paxos Digital Singapore under Monetary Authority of Singapore supervision, with reserves held in US dollar deposits and treasuries.

The stablecoin's market cap has grown to approximately $2.55 billion while holding its dollar peg.

What Traders Should Know About USDG

A spot listing means traders can buy and sell USDG directly against USDT without leverage or derivatives contracts. For a stablecoin, the practical value lies in having a liquid on-ramp to a regulated dollar-pegged asset on a major exchange.

USDG is issued by Paxos Digital Singapore Pte. Ltd., a Major Payments Institution supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The token is also issued in the EU by Paxos Issuance Europe under FIN-FSA supervision and MiCA compliance, giving it a dual-jurisdiction regulatory footprint.

Reserves backing USDG are held 100% in US dollar deposits, US treasuries, and cash equivalents. Paxos publishes monthly reserve reports and attestations, and the token is fully redeemable on a one-to-one basis for US dollars.

USDG's market cap currently sits at approximately $2.55 billion, with a circulating supply of roughly 2.55 billion tokens. The stablecoin continues to hold its dollar peg, trading at $1.00 with negligible deviation.

OKX Listing Arrives During Extreme Fear in Crypto Markets

The broader crypto market is currently registering an Extreme Fear reading of 8 on the Fear & Greed Index. In that environment, regulated stablecoins with transparent reserves tend to attract attention from traders looking for capital preservation over speculative exposure.

Exchange listings remain a closely watched category of crypto news because they directly affect a token's liquidity, accessibility, and visibility. For USDG, the OKX listing expanded access to one of the world's largest spot exchanges and established a primary trading venue that still dominates the token's volume nearly a year later.

The listing also fits a broader pattern of major exchanges integrating regulated stablecoins as alternatives to USDT. As some traders have been rotating out of crypto positions into traditional equities, having diversified stablecoin options on major platforms gives remaining market participants more flexibility in how they park capital.

Total 24-hour volume across all USDG pairs reached approximately $169 million at last check, suggesting trading activity extends well beyond the OKX venue alone. That volume figure, combined with the $2.55 billion market cap, places USDG among the mid-tier stablecoins competing for share in a market still dominated by USDT and USDC.

For traders evaluating USDG, the key differentiator remains its regulatory structure: MAS supervision in Singapore, MiCA compliance in the EU, and Paxos-backed reserves with published monthly attestations. Whether that regulatory clarity translates into sustained adoption will depend on continued exchange integration and institutional demand for compliant stablecoin rails.
