Bybit has announced that it will support the THORChain (RUNE) v3.19.0 network upgrade, signaling that the exchange is preparing its infrastructure to remain compatible with the latest protocol changes.

What Bybit Confirmed About the THORChain v3.19.0 Upgrade

The exchange published a support notice confirming it will handle the THORChain RUNE v3.19.0 network upgrade on its platform. The announcement identifies THORChain and its native token RUNE as the affected asset and names v3.19.0 as the specific protocol version.

The notice is structured as an exchange support confirmation rather than a detailed technical breakdown. No specific maintenance windows, deposit or withdrawal suspension times, or wallet migration instructions were included in the available details.

THORChain's v3.19.0 release can be tracked through the project's public repository, where node operators and developers can review the changes included in this version.

What RUNE Users on Bybit Should Watch Next

Users holding RUNE on Bybit should monitor the exchange's official announcements channel for any follow-up notices. Exchanges typically issue separate communications if deposits, withdrawals, or trading pairs will be temporarily affected during a network upgrade.

No exact suspension or resumption schedule has been confirmed in the current notice. Users who need uninterrupted access to their RUNE tokens may want to plan ahead, as similar token-related service notices from other exchanges sometimes precede brief service pauses.

Bybit has not indicated whether any action is required from users before the upgrade takes effect. Until further details are released, the standard recommendation is to avoid initiating RUNE transfers to or from the exchange close to any announced maintenance period.

Why Exchange Support for Network Upgrades Matters

When a blockchain protocol releases a new version, exchanges must update their node software to stay synchronized with the network. An exchange that does not upgrade in time risks processing transactions on an incompatible chain, which can result in delayed or lost deposits.

Support notices like this one from Bybit serve as public confirmation that the platform's engineering team is aware of the upgrade and has committed to implementing it. For RUNE holders, this reduces the risk of service disruption on one of the major trading venues.

The announcement fits a broader pattern where centralized exchanges continue to deepen their integration with decentralized protocol ecosystems. As derivatives markets also evolve, with developments like the launch of new volatility products on traditional exchanges, timely support for network upgrades remains one of the baseline expectations users have when choosing where to custody and trade their assets.
