2026

Istanbul Blockchain Week 2026 kicked off with packed halls, active networking, and a strong sense that the industry's focus has shifted from speculation toward building sustainable infrastructure.

Situated at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Istanbul once again proved why it has become one of the most important regional gathering points for the blockchain industry. The event attracted founders, developers, exchanges, infrastructure providers, investors, and service companies from across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and beyond.

For Outset PR, the data-driven crypto PR agency and official sponsor of Istanbul Blockchain Week 2026, the event offered a valuable opportunity to meet clients, partners, and emerging projects seeking visibility in an increasingly competitive market. The conference continues to serve as an effective venue for projects looking to connect with Turkey's highly engaged crypto community while simultaneously building relationships across both Eastern and Western markets.

Infrastructure Emerges as the Core Narrative

While artificial intelligence, real-world assets, and privacy technologies attracted significant attention, several attendees pointed to infrastructure as the industry's most important long-term focus.

"RWAs, AI in Web3, and privacy are attracting a lot of attention right now, but if you look beneath the headlines, the real story is infrastructure. Every new trend eventually runs into the same question: what technology will support it at scale? Whether it's tokenized assets, AI-powered applications, or privacy-focused products, success depends on liquidity, interoperability, wallets, and seamless user experience. That's why SwapSpace is excited about IBW; it's a chance to speak directly with the teams building the rails behind the next generation of crypto products," said Vasily Shilov, CBDO at SwapSpace.

The sentiment reflects a broader industry trend. As blockchain technology matures, attention is increasingly moving toward the foundational systems that enable adoption rather than the narratives that initially attract attention.

Istanbul Bridges East and West

The first day highlighted one of Istanbul Blockchain Week's defining strengths: its ability to bring together audiences that rarely gather in the same room.

Compared with some global conferences dominated by major exchanges and multinational brands, IBW 2026 featured a stronger regional presence, with Turkish companies playing a particularly visible role. That local focus created a different dynamic. Conversations centered less on market cycles and more on practical adoption, infrastructure development, partnerships, and expansion strategies.

For many attendees, the event represented a gateway into one of the world's most active crypto markets.

"So far the event has been actually great. This is the first time I come to Turkey, this region is very popular for our community at Kyrgyz Republic. Historically, they've been curious to become partners in trade. For us, it's gonna be a big step and market penetration in Turkey. So far, it is great, a lot of local partners that we can leverage. I'm very happy to be here," commented Gabriel Guerra, Marketing Director at Gold Dollar.

Outset PR Connects With Emerging Builders

As a sponsor and participant, Outset PR spent the first day engaging with founders and executives across multiple sectors, including decentralized finance, infrastructure, payments, AI-powered Web3 applications, and tokenized real-world assets.

The conversations reflected a broader trend the agency has observed throughout 2026: projects are increasingly focused on sustainable growth, strategic market positioning, and long-term visibility rather than short-term hype cycles.

This shift aligns closely with Outset PR's approach to communications. The agency combines boutique-level strategy with performance analytics powered by Outset Media Index to help blockchain companies build market visibility through targeted media outreach, narrative development, and AI-era discoverability.

Builders Take Center Stage

One of the strongest impressions from day one was the quality of the attendees. Multiple participants noted that the conference audience consisted largely of active industry professionals rather than passive observers.

Nick Avramov, Institutional Business Development at Aster, shares an observation:

"Going to Istanbul, I expected the usual mix of traders and influencers. What I found instead were serious builders solving real problems, let it be infrastructure, interoperability, real-world assets. The vibe here isn't about getting rich overnight, but about shipping products that might actually outlive this cycle."

Those themes repeatedly surfaced across panels and private discussions throughout the venue.

Security and User Experience Remain Key Challenges

Wallet security and transaction transparency also emerged as recurring topics. Alex Devyatkin, CEO and Founder of ERA Wallet, described why conferences like Istanbul Blockchain Week remain valuable despite the industry's growing digital-first nature:

"Istanbul Blockchain Week draws a specific kind of crowd. Not casual investors. Not people still figuring out what a seed phrase is. The people walking through that hall today were active. They're running DeFi positions. They're signing transactions daily. That's the person we built ERA Wallet for. And conferences like IBW are one of the only places where you can look them in the eye. That's why we have a stand here because this room is full of people signing transactions they can't read, and we built the device that changes that."

His comments highlight one of the industry's ongoing priorities: making blockchain technology safer and easier to use without sacrificing decentralization.

Looking Ahead

If the first day is any indication, Istanbul Blockchain Week 2026 is shaping up to be a conference centered on execution rather than speculation.

The dominant conversations revolved around infrastructure, interoperability, user experience, institutional readiness, and market expansion. For Outset PR, those discussions reinforce the importance of narrative-driven communications that connect technological innovation with real-world adoption and market relevance.

As meetings continue and new partnerships emerge throughout the week, Istanbul remains exactly what the conference aims to be: a meeting point where Europe, Asia, and the broader crypto ecosystem come together to build the next phase of the industry.
