The flaw let the system charge funds before canceling transactions for insufficient balances, <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2026/06/01/three-sui-mainnet-halts-in-48-hours-traced-to-an-upgrade-bug-by-developers" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">creating</a> negative balances that crashed validators.An interim fix for the first bug set off the third outage. That halt traced to a separate randomness-state fault that surfaced during an epoch change. The patch carried a known flaw with a low chance of triggering a halt, and engineers accepted that risk to restore service quickly.The token has <a href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/sui" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">slipped</a> since the disruption.
