I had the idea to run this survey a long time ago. I kept seeing people constantly arguing about crypto cards in comments and posts, but nobody was putting everything together in one place. For a long time, I was deciding which platform to use for it. I was tempted to run it across different platforms, but when I started looking at the subscriber growth here on CoinMarketCap, I realized this was exactly where it needed to happen.
Why here specifically? Because the CMC audience is not random people. These are active traders, people who actually use different exchanges, test different cards, and pay with them in different countries. This community is full of people with real experience, not just people dreaming about it. That means the answers are more objective and based on actual usage.
I ran a series of surveys over the course of a month. More than 390 people answered questions about which cards they use, what matters to them, and what requirements they have for crypto cards. I asked about security for large balances, traveling, support response times, exchange integrations, fees, basically everything.

What Actually Matters to People

When you look at all the responses together, something interesting becomes obvious. People are not looking for crazy features or unique gimmicks. They are looking for something that simply works. A card that does not fail, that processes withdrawals quickly, and works the same way in every country. That is the main thing.
About support - 62% made it clear that 24/7 support is not optional, it is a necessity. If you are in Thailand or Portugal and your card gets blocked, you cannot wait until Monday. You need an answer immediately. And this is not about being demanding, it is the reality for people who constantly travel or work with international payments.
About geography - 69.6% clearly said that the card must work everywhere. Not just in Europe, not just in Asia, but everywhere. That answer was surprisingly consistent. People do not want to think about regions, they just want to pay anywhere in the world without problems.
When I started collecting data on which cards people actually use, the picture became very interesting. Nobody is choosing one obvious queen. Instead, users are distributed between several options, and each option is good for something specific.
Binance is clearly ahead when it comes to infrastructure and platform profitability. People who actively trade and spend large amounts choose Binance because the fees and limits are simply better. 42.9% called it the most reliable in terms of infrastructure, and 44.2% choose it for profitability. These are not just numbers, these are people who calculate every percentage in fees.
But there are also people who travel frequently, and for them the story is different. Crypto.com wins in travel usage - 38.3% choose it specifically for international payments. It also performs well for daily spending, with 33.3% choosing it for regular use. It is like a universal soldier, not necessarily the best at one thing, but working well everywhere.
WhiteBIT Nova holds a stable position. It does not lead in any category, but it is not critically behind either. 30.6% choose it as their main BTC hub, 27.7% use it for traveling, and 25% say it is a profitable platform. This is a card for people who do not want anything heroic, they just want everything to work smoothly without glitches. And honestly, that is a very important position because not everyone wants to live in a constant optimization mindset.
Bybit is interesting. If you look at the overall numbers, it is not leading, but when it comes to protecting large balances, 37.5% choose it specifically. These are people holding serious amounts of money, and for them security is not marketing, it is survival. They trust Bybit when it comes to serious funds.
Coinbase is also in the game, sitting in the top five. It shows decent numbers across all categories, but does not particularly dominate anywhere. 29.4% choose it for everyday spending, and 30% for protecting large balances. It works for people who simply want a reliable Western card without worrying about exotic optimizations.

About Red Flags

Another important thing the survey revealed is that people are extremely sensitive to sudden policy changes. 35% named unexpected changes as the biggest red flag. When a card offered 5% cashback yesterday and suddenly gives 0.5% today, it destroys trust in the platform. 24% are worried about withdrawal delays, and 12% leave because of cashback reductions. This is important for platforms to understand - people do not leave because of one bad day, they leave because they feel manipulated.

Final Ranking

Here is how the final ranking looks based on all survey results using a weighted average calculation:

Binance Card - 35.9%

Crypto.com - 30.3%

WhiteBIT Nova - 26.8%

Bybit Card - 24.8%

Coinbase Card - 23.9%

You can clearly see that the gap between the top three is not huge, but Binance still pulls ahead. It is not really a situation where there is one queen and everyone else follows. It is more like several major players sharing the market across different segments.
Choosing a card is no longer about finding the best card overall. It is about finding the card that best fits your specific use case. If you are a professional trader and fee optimization is your life, then Binance is clearly ahead. If you are constantly traveling and need to make payments around the world, Crypto.com holds a strong position. If you want stability and do not want to obsess over micro-optimizations, WhiteBIT Nova is simply a better fit. Every card works best in its own context.
The main thing I understood from this survey is that the crypto card market is not about one winner. It is about having several strong options, and people choose based on what they actually do and what they actually need. And that is completely normal.
