The Worldcoin team transferred 30 million WLD tokens to a BitGo custody wallet, bringing the receiving address balance to 153.65 million WLD. The large-scale movement has drawn attention from on-chain watchers tracking team-controlled token supply.

What Happened in the 30M WLD Transfer

A wallet linked to the Worldcoin project team moved 30 million WLD into an address identified as a BitGo custody wallet. The transfer brought the destination wallet's total balance to 153.65 million WLD.

The move represents a transfer between team-controlled wallets rather than a confirmed deposit to a trading venue. BitGo provides institutional-grade custody infrastructure, suggesting the tokens were consolidated for secure storage rather than positioned for immediate sale.

WLD trades across multiple chains including Ethereum, Optimism, and World Chain. The token is trackable on decentralized exchange aggregators such as GeckoTerminal's Ethereum listing.

Why the BitGo Custody Wallet Balance Matters

A custody wallet differs meaningfully from an exchange deposit address. When project teams send tokens to custodians like BitGo, the tokens are typically held in cold storage under multi-signature security, not queued for market orders.

The 153.65 million WLD balance makes this wallet one of the larger known team-controlled addresses. Traders monitoring Worldcoin's circulating supply watch these wallets for signals about potential future distribution or sell pressure.

Large team transfers can shift trader expectations even without an immediate sale. Similar dynamics have played out in other large token movements, such as when Garrett Jin deposited 108,169 ETH worth $250 million into Binance, which immediately raised liquidation concerns due to the exchange destination.

In this case, the BitGo custody destination suggests operational treasury management rather than distribution intent. Custody consolidation alone does not prove sell pressure, and interpreting it as bearish without follow-up outflows would be premature.

What to Watch After Worldcoin's Custody Move

The most actionable signal going forward would be outflows from the BitGo wallet to labeled exchange addresses. A transfer from custody to a trading venue would carry different implications than the current consolidation move.

Whether the Worldcoin team issues any commentary on treasury management or token lockup schedules would also clarify the purpose behind the transfer. The project's technical documentation outlines token distribution plans, but specific custody movements are not always pre-announced.

On-chain monitoring of the 153.65 million WLD balance will remain a focus for market participants. Any subsequent movement of meaningful size from this address, particularly toward centralized exchanges, would likely trigger renewed scrutiny from traders watching team-controlled supply, much like how Block's growing Bitcoin holdings draw attention to corporate treasury decisions.
