Moreover, she explained that digital asset custody now serves as a foundational layer for institutions entering the crypto sector. Without secure custody systems, scaling services such as payments, tokenization, and staking becomes increasingly difficult. Therefore, banks are prioritizing platforms that combine compliance with operational flexibility.

Additionally, Ripple’s custody infrastructure is designed to align with how institutions currently operate, rather than requiring significant internal changes. This approach allows firms to integrate services efficiently while maintaining control over their existing workflows. As a result, organizations can deploy custody solutions using SaaS, on-premises, or hybrid models depending on regulatory and operational needs.

Institutional Demand Accelerates As Banks Expand Crypto Capabilities

According to Long, the platform’s capabilities are attracting a growing list of global clients, including Kbank and Kyobo Life Insurance. These institutions now join established names such as BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo, and AMINA Bank, reflecting a broader shift among banks toward digital asset infrastructure.

Furthermore, she noted that institutions value stronger control mechanisms alongside simplified workflows, which help reduce complexity in managing digital assets. Consequently, providers that offer both security and ease of integration are becoming central to enterprise crypto strategies.

Meanwhile, Ripple has also emphasized that custody acts as a governance layer within the digital asset ecosystem. This role ensures that transactions, tokenization processes, and staking activities operate within secure and compliant frameworks. Hence, as adoption grows, custody services are becoming essential rather than optional components.

In addition, the expanding client base suggests that banks increasingly prefer customizable solutions that adapt to their specific requirements. This trend aligns with a wider industry movement toward flexible blockchain infrastructure that supports diverse financial use cases. Ripple’s custody growth reflects rising institutional demand for secure digital asset management solutions. As banks continue to enter the crypto space, custody remains a critical component that enables scalability, compliance, and integration.
