Genius

Binance Alpha announced it will be the first platform to feature Genius Foundation (GENIUS) on April 13, with reports indicating that users holding at least 230 Alpha points can apply for an airdrop of 240 GENIUS tokens.

The announcement came via Binance Wallet's official X account, which confirmed the listing date and stated that eligible users can claim their airdrop using Binance Alpha Points on the Alpha Events page once trading opens.

The specific threshold of 230 Alpha points and the 240-token allocation were reported by BlockBeats on April 13. However, according to unconfirmed reports, the official Binance Wallet post did not explicitly state the exact points threshold or the precise number of GENIUS tokens to be distributed, so users should verify these figures directly inside the Binance Alpha app before acting.

How the 230 Alpha points threshold shapes eligibility

The reported 230-point minimum means the airdrop is not a universal distribution. It functions as a condition-based claim process, filtering for users who have accumulated enough activity within the Binance Alpha ecosystem.

The wording "can apply" rather than "will receive" suggests an active claim step is required. Users who meet the threshold still need to navigate to the Alpha Events page and complete the application during the claim window, similar to how previous major altcoin distribution events have operated on Binance.

Before applying, users should confirm their current Alpha points balance in the Binance app. Points snapshots may have been taken at a specific cutoff time, and regional or account-level restrictions could apply, though Binance has not yet disclosed any geographic limitations for this particular event.

Why the first Binance Alpha listing matters for Genius Foundation

Binance Wallet explicitly stated that Binance Alpha will be "the first platform to feature" GENIUS. First-listing status on a Binance product carries significant visibility within the exchange's user base, which remains one of the largest in crypto.

The listing arrives as Genius Terminal, the platform behind the GENIUS token, has already processed over $3 billion in trading volume according to its official documentation. The project's Genius Points system ran a Season 1 with a fixed supply of 200,000,000 GP, of which 75,000,000 had already been awarded before the season's April 12 end date.

YZi Labs, the investment arm previously associated with Binance, disclosed in January that it invested in Genius and that former Binance CEO CZ serves as an advisor. The investment blog post described Genius as consolidating trading across BNB Chain, Solana, Ethereum, and six other networks, positioning it as a multi-chain terminal rather than a single-chain tool.

The connection between YZi Labs' backing and Binance Alpha's first-listing status underscores a tight ecosystem relationship. For users tracking altcoin launches tied to major exchange ecosystems, the Genius Foundation listing fits a pattern of Binance-adjacent projects receiving early platform exposure.

Market backdrop: extreme fear and BNB context

The GENIUS airdrop announcement lands during a period of weak risk appetite across crypto markets. The Fear & Greed Index registered at 12, a reading labeled Extreme Fear, at the time of the announcement.

BNB, the native token of the Binance ecosystem, was trading at $595.99 with a roughly 0.20% gain over 24 hours, giving the asset a market cap above $81 billion.

On-chain market data around the "Genius Foundation" name is noisy. A DexScreener search surfaced a wave of unverified Solana pairs using the name, with no official contract attribution confirmed. One FluxBeam pair showed a price of $0.001032 and a 907% 24-hour price change, but there is no verified connection between these speculative pairs and the official GENIUS token Binance Alpha will list.

That noise is worth flagging for users exploring broader token ecosystem developments. Scam tokens impersonating newly announced projects are common, and the absence of a verified CoinGecko listing or official contract address at the time of this report means caution is essential.

What users should check before applying

The application-based language in the announcement means users need to take several active steps. First, verify your Alpha points balance directly in the Binance app or Binance Alpha interface.

Second, monitor the Alpha Events page for the exact claim window. Binance Wallet's post noted that "further details will be announced soon," which means the full mechanics, including any time limits, may not be live yet.

Third, watch for regional or account-type restrictions. Binance has historically limited certain promotional distributions by jurisdiction, and no geographic details have been disclosed for this airdrop.

Fourth, do not interact with any GENIUS token contracts outside of the official Binance Alpha interface. The unverified pairs already circulating on decentralized exchanges are not confirmed to be the same asset Binance will list.
