It is worth noting that Sarah's exact title as "partner" at Sign comes from the RootData-attributed notice alone. No independently fetched official Sign team page or biography was available to corroborate the specific role designation.

Forum Details and Registration

The event's Luma registration page confirms the full title as "Crypto 2026: From Cryptocurrency to Smart Economy," names ChainCatcher and RootData among the hosts, and places the venue on Hong Kong Island.

At the time of research, 552 people had marked themselves as going on the Luma event page, suggesting meaningful early interest in the forum ahead of the April 19 date.

The theme, "From Cryptocurrency to Smart Economy," frames the discussion as a bridge between core crypto infrastructure and broader economic applications. This kind of thematic positioning typically signals panels oriented around real-world adoption, institutional use cases, and infrastructure maturity, though no specific session titles or panel agendas have been confirmed by the organizers.

Why This Matters for Hong Kong Crypto Watchers

Hong Kong has positioned itself as a regional hub for digital asset activity, and events tied to the Web3 Carnival attract attention from builders, investors, and protocol teams across Asia. Attendance confirmations from project representatives signal which teams are actively engaging with the Hong Kong ecosystem.

For Sign, which operates across attestation protocols and token distribution tools, a roundtable appearance at a forum themed around the "smart economy" aligns with the company's product positioning in on-chain verification and identity infrastructure.

Broader market sentiment at the time of the announcement registered at 16 on the Fear & Greed Index, placing the crypto market firmly in "Extreme Fear" territory. Conference attendance and ecosystem engagement often continue through bearish sentiment cycles, as teams use industry forums to build partnerships regardless of short-term price action. While Ethereum itself has fallen 55% from its all-time high, development and event activity across the broader Web3 ecosystem has remained steady.

The research brief also tracked live SIGN market data alongside the attendance report. At fetch time, SIGN traded at $0.0322 with a 24-hour trading volume of approximately $17.1 million.

What to Expect from the Forum

Based on the "From Cryptocurrency to Smart Economy" framing, likely discussion areas include the transition from speculative trading toward utility-driven blockchain applications, infrastructure for institutional adoption, and the role of attestation and identity protocols in a maturing digital economy.

These are plausible topics given the theme, not confirmed agenda items. No official session schedule, speaker list, or panel breakdown has been published in any of the sources reviewed for this report.

The broader context of the Hong Kong Web3 Carnival suggests that side events like this forum serve as focused venues for protocol-level discussions, in contrast to the main carnival's broader audience. Events within the SPAC and corporate blockchain space have drawn attention to how Web3 projects navigate institutional structures, a theme that aligns with the forum's "smart economy" positioning.
