Recently, a survey was released by Bitwise and VettaFi which revealed that 32% of financial advisors allotted to crypto in client accounts in the last year, up from 22% in 2024. With this, a milestone of an all-time high of the series was set up.
This leap can be attributed to a headline year for virtual assets, and the report also highlighted the milestone achieved by Bitcoin, marking an all-time high in 2025, with the $126k mark, and a quick advancement of US rules, adding the GENIUS Act that shifted stablecoins further into the mainstream.
299 eligible responses were recorded by Bitwise and VettaFi, having outreach stretching from October 31 to December 8 of the last year over advisor types extending from registered investment advisors to wirehouse representatives and broker-dealer representatives.
The demand of the client was steady, and advisors sensed it. The survey revealed that 94% of advisors got a question regarding crypto from clients in 2025, and 56% noted owning crypto in their personal portfolios, another record for the datasets.

The Allocation Rates

Allocation rates were not the same over the channel. Registered investment advisors (RIAs) were leading with 42%, noting that they assign crypto in client accounts after the wirehouse representatives at 35%, and the report also noted 33% for other financial professionals. Also, 25% was allotted to independent broker-dealer representatives and 18% for financial planners.
Moving forward, the upcoming wave may come from advisers who resided on the sidelines. Among those who did not allot to crypto in client accounts, 18% mentioned that they surely or probably plan to add exposure in 2026, and another 38% revealed they are thinking about it. Among advisors so far allotting, 99% plan to maintain or surge exposure.
Product preference is moving forward with familiar wrappers. Once again crypto equity ETFs become the favourite choice for advisors in 2026, and the choices position spot crypto ETFs at 16%, diversified crypto index funds at 14%, multistrategy solutions at 13%, and income-accumulating strategies at 9%.
