Rise

The year 2026 has begun with uncertainty, with crucial decisions like the MSCI deferment and pending Supreme Court tariff ruling putting pressure on cryptocurrency markets. Investors remain on edge as the disappointments of the last quarter of 2025 have not yet been alleviated. So, what are the expectations for PENGU and SUI Coin? Which altcoins are set to perform well in 2026?

The year 2025 was challenging, particularly for altcoin investors who continuously experienced losses. Some altcoins dropped by 80% and there seems to be no conducive environment for recovery even in the new year. Can cryptocurrencies bring back smiles to investors in 2026?
Industry analyst DaanCrypto shared category-based performance charts to gauge which sectors might perform better this year. The AI and meme coins, which showcased the best performance through much of 2023 and 2024, have made a strong start in 2026. While other sectors remain steady, the continued strength of AI and meme coins leads the analyst to anticipate this trend to carry on through 2026.

“At the start of 2026, it’s evident which sectors will perform excellently. AI and meme coin sectors, which performed well in much of 2023 and 2024, are leading again this year.
All other sectors, however, have stayed largely flat so far this year. BTC and ETH have seen a modest gain of approximately 3-4% so far.”

On January 8, Sherpa expressed positive sentiment about PENGU Coin, suggesting potential purchases around $0.0112. With few memecoins integrating multiple sectors, PENGU stands out for its tangible connection to real life, earning positive evaluations from many analysts. The recent market reaction has delighted Sherpa.

“PENGU displayed a commendable bounce after some fluctuations at the 0.382 fib level. It’s a fantastic cryptocurrency affecting multiple sectors worth keeping an eye on,” Sherpa remarked.
If Sherpa’s insights are correct, the price could reach $0.0138.

While Ali Martinez has forecasted declines for several cryptocurrencies, he remains bullish on SUI Coin. According to his shared chart, if the $1.79 level holds, it could potentially test $2.39.
