Wyoming has officially made its state-issued stablecoin, the Frontier Stable Token ($FRNT), available to the public, marking the first fully state-issued stable token in the United States to enter live circulation.
The stablecoin was developed under the Wyoming Stable Token Commission and is designed to combine state-managed reserves with blockchain-based settlement.
While earlier infrastructure plans were announced in August 2025, the latest launch opens $FRNT to public use across multiple blockchain networks, including Solana and Avalanche.

The assets, consisting exclusively of U.S. dollars and short-term Treasuries, are managed by Franklin Templeton. Its affiliate, Fiduciary Trust Company International, will act as custodian.
Governor Mark Gordon called the launch “a defining moment” for Wyoming’s ongoing digital asset leadership.

“By introducing the nation’s first state-issued stable token, we are demonstrating how thoughtful, transparent regulation and new technologies can be harnessed to expand access, lower costs, and strengthen public trust,” Gordon said.

Unlike corporate stablecoins governed by private entities, $FRNT’s structure ensures full transparency and legal alignment under state oversight.

“The collaboration with the State of Wyoming demonstrates what’s possible when the public and private sectors work together to create a compliant, trusted framework for digital assets,” said Jenny Johnson, CEO of Franklin Templeton.

The initiative is created under the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, which was established under the Wyoming Stable Token Act in March 2023 and was tasked with issuing fully backed stable tokens in line with state fiscal policy.
