Despite what your portfolio is saying, crypto didn’t slow down in 2025. It got faster, noisier, and more complex.
New tokens launched daily. Liquidity moved quickly. On-chain activity became harder to track. Every move came with more context to check and less time to check it.
For most users, the challenge was no longer finding data. It was knowing how to read it.
Throughout the year, CoinMarketCap focused on that pain-point. Here's what we gave you in 2025!
<h3 id="strong-cmc-ai-strong">CMC AI</h3><react-video url="https://youtu.be/k7l5nztcJfw?si=PyW90f2I-LOWNFib"></react-video>

CMC AI became part of everyday research.
It appears where questions naturally arise, on the homepage and on coin pages. When price action changes, users can check supply, wallet activity, or market context without leaving the page. Answers are tied directly to CoinMarketCap data, with sources visible.
Support for custom questions and multiple languages allowed users to clarify terms, compare conditions, and understand movement as it happens.
<h3 id="strong-market-context-and-indicators-strong">Market Context and Indicators</h3>
Market-wide tools expanded across the platform.<react-video url="https://youtu.be/jop0SOEO_ZI?si=yDJWBjw-bsSm028R"></react-video>

Bitcoin Dominance, the CMC 100 Index, and Market Cycle Indicators provided reference points during rotations and volatility. Faster refresh rates made these tools usable during live market conditions, not just as summaries.
<h3 id="strong-real-world-assets-strong">Real World Assets</h3><react-video url="https://youtu.be/7gz_OGWPouE?si=X6L9PClDRHtQ_p6A"></react-video>

Real World Assets gained clearer structure on-chain.
Dedicated dashboards track tokenized stocks, commodities, and currencies with live pricing, volume, and market capitalization. Detail pages follow the same layout used for crypto assets, making comparisons easier across asset types.
<h3 id="strong-dexscan-signals-and-social-context-strong">DexScan, Signals, and Social Context</h3><react-video url="https://youtu.be/1dLFW2JZJck"></react-video>
DexScan became more responsive to early movement.
One-second charts across major chains made short-term price action easier to observe. Updates to trending surfaced tokens earlier in the discovery flow.
DexScan Signals added deeper on-chain context through wallet activity, position changes, and historical tracking.
Social Mentions and the KOL tab connected calls from X and Telegram directly to price performance, making outcomes visible over time rather than relying on timelines.
<h3 id="strong-community-topics-strong">Community Topics</h3>
Community Topics introduced structured discussions around specific market questions.
Each topic anchors conversation to a clear prompt and a related token, with answers ranked by engagement and contributor reputation. Discussion stayed contextual instead of scattered.
<h3 id="strong-data-structure-and-supply-clarity-strong">Data Structure and Supply Clarity</h3>
Several updates focused on data structure.
Profile Score highlighted data completeness on project pages. Supply Tooltips clarified reported versus on-chain supply and locked tokens. Unlocked Market Cap surfaced circulating versus unlocked supply directly on coin pages.
<h3 id="strong-cmc20-strong">CMC20</h3>
In November, CoinMarketCap launched CMC20.
CMC20 tracks the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, rebalanced monthly, excluding stablecoins and non-investable assets. Built on Reserve and deployed on BNB Chain, it is fully on-chain and tradable, with transparent holdings and methodology.

<h3 id="onwards-and-upwards">Onwards and Upwards</h3>
Across 2025, CoinMarketCap focused on how information is presented, updated, and used.
Charts updated faster. Context became easier to access. Research steps shortened. Tools moved closer to decision-making.
We spent the year responding to that reality and we’ll carry that same mindset into 2026.
