The initiative, called “Shib Owes You” (SOU), turns what was once an open-ended promise into a verifiable, on-chain process.</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-a-direct-message-to-the-shib-army">A Direct Message to the Shib Army</h2><p>The update came from OG Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya, who acknowledged the strain the past year has placed on the community.</p><blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p><em>“This year, especially the last few months, has been the hardest period in Shiba Inu’s history,”</em><a href="https://blog.shib.io/where-we-stand-a-year-end-letter-to-the-shib-army/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">he wrote</a>, pointing to the hack and the exit of key figures who “left, without accountability.”</p></blockquote><p>Dharyia also pushed back against claims that no legal action was taken. <em>“I have personally been interviewed by not one, not two, but three federal agents,” </em>he said, confirming that information related to the incident has already been shared with authorities.</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="what-is-shib-owes-you">What Is ‘Shib Owes You’?</h2><p>SOU is a tokenized debt framework built on <a href="https://coinpedia.org/price-prediction/market-price-prediction-ethereum-2019/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum</a>. Under the system, affected users receive dynamic NFTs that represent the exact amount still owed to them.</p><blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow"><p><em>“This isn’t a promise in a database somewhere,”</em> Dhairya wrote. <em>“It’s cryptographic proof that you own a claim, recorded permanently on the Ethereum blockchain.”</em></p></blockquote><p>Each NFT updates as repayments or donations occur, reducing the outstanding balance in real time. The tokens can also be <strong>sold, merged, or split</strong>, giving users flexibility if they don’t want to wait for full repayment.</p><h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="how-repayments-will-be-funded">How Repayments Will Be Funded</h2><p>To support SOU, Shiba Inu is tightening its operations.
