The Ice Open Network (ION) is entering a critical transition period as the long-planned ICE-to-ION migration reaches its final stage, with swaps scheduled to go live on December 17.
Over the past week, the project has focused on migration readiness, exchange coordination, and core product stability, while also outlining the next phase of development around Tokenized Communities and creator monetization on BNB Chain.
This roundup looks at verified updates from Ice Open Network from December 11 to December 17, 2025, along with the latest Online+ Bulletin from the ION product team.

ICE to ION Migration Enters Final Phase

The primary development during the week was the countdown to the “ICE → ION migration”. The protocol repeatedly emphasized that most centralized exchanges would halt ICE trading on December 16 between 06:00 and 10:00 UTC. Users planning to migrate were urged to transfer their ICE tokens to the Online+ app before the window closed to ensure eligibility for the on-chain bridge.
Swaps officially go live on December 17, enabling the conversion of ICE to ION within Online+. The team described this moment as the final operational step in a process that has been under preparation for several months, with internal testing focused on validating migration flows and wallet behavior under production conditions.
For users in India, a key concern was addressed on December 12, when CoinDCX confirmed its support for the migration. SunCrypto also coordinated on the same front, removing uncertainty for a large regional user base that had previously faced unclear exchange pathways.
ION characterized the migration as a “community filter,” noting that participation requires token holders to take active steps rather than automatic conversion on exchanges. Throughout the week, the team shared safety guidance, including performing test transactions, maintaining backups, and verifying wallet addresses before initiating swaps.

What Key Features and Bug Fixes Were Introduced?

As always, Ice Open Network implemented a wide set of feature updates and bug fixes across Online+. The changes focused on wallet reliability, interface consistency, and stability across core user actions, including posting, messaging, and navigation.

Wallet and Swap Functionality

Online+ now requires a BSC-compatible wallet, aligning the app’s core infrastructure with BNB Chain ahead of swaps and Tokenized Communities.

A default coin was set in the swap dialog, reducing setup friction for users. Balance mismatches between the swap dialog and the main wallet view were corrected to ensure consistent asset reporting.

Issues causing ICE balances to display as zero after disabling other coins were fixed, along with errors where buy and sell amounts failed to update correctly during ICE (BSC) → ION (BSC) swaps.

Back navigation behavior was corrected to return users to coin selection rather than reopening the swap flow. Swap notifications were also adjusted to trigger at the correct time.

Wallet privacy was removed, making all in-app wallets publicly visible. This change aligns wallet behavior with upcoming tokenized social features.

Tokenized Communities Interface Updates

A Tokenized Communities banner was added to the wallet, providing direct access to token categories without requiring navigation through other sections of the app.

Profiles now support selling flows for Tokenized Communities, allowing users to manage community tokens directly from their profiles.

Notification settings related to Tokenized Communities were added to the three-dot menu on other users’ profiles.

Feed and Content Editor Stability

Multiple issues affecting copy, paste, select-all, cursor movement, font tooltips, and leading-space rendering were fixed to restore predictable editing behavior.

Hashtags incorrectly appearing as regular text in articles were corrected, and article progress bar behavior was stabilized.

Video playback continuity was fixed when switching between feed and full-screen views. Shared post links were updated to prevent displaying raw image upload addresses.

Scroll-to-top functionality was restored in the feed, and duplicated tooltips and persistent UI elements were removed.

Chat and Messaging Improvements

Issues preventing messages from being delivered when starting a new chat from a user profile were resolved.

Users can now remove individual images when multiple images are attached to a message, addressing a common usability complaint.

Profile and Navigation Fixes

Incorrect color styling in the Posts and Replies bar for Tokenized Communities was fixed, and long usernames now truncate more cleanly during profile scrolling. Page jump behavior when unfollowing users was corrected, and in-app notification settings no longer reset after app reinstallations.

Security and Account Protection

Account security notifications are now consistently enforced across user sessions.

Repeated backup prompts affecting some users were resolved, and backup enforcement now triggers reliably after the initial setup.

The Google Authenticator link was corrected to prevent redirection to external exchanges, reducing setup confusion.

Localization and Minor Updates

Turkish translations were updated to improve accuracy and consistency across the app.

According to the Online+ product team, these updates were intentionally focused on reliability rather than on expanding new features. While many of the fixes address edge cases or interface inconsistencies, together they form the stability baseline required for swaps, migration traffic, and the upcoming rollout of Tokenized Communities.

Tokenized Communities Near Launch on BNB Chain

Beyond the migration, Ice Open Network continued to outline its Tokenized Communities framework, confirming that it will launch on BNB Chain. Under this model, user profiles and posts are represented as tokens governed by bonding curves. As activity and demand grow, these tokens can graduate to PancakeSwap, integrating community-driven assets with established decentralized exchange infrastructure.
Throughout the week, ION hosted and promoted X Spaces discussions focused on Tokenized Communities, including sessions led by founder and CEO Alexandru Iulian Florea. These conversations centered on mechanics, migration timelines, and how tokenization integrates with the broader Online+ ecosystem.
ION also highlighted that Tokenized Communities are being developed in parallel with swaps, rather than as a follow-up feature. According to internal commentary, the team has continued to push development despite the operational pressures of the migration rollout.

PUMPit Extends Tokenization to X

A notable announcement on December 11 and 14 was the introduction of PUMPit, ION’s Chrome extension built on BNB Chain that extends ION’s tokenization mechanics directly into X. PUMPit allows users to launch, trade, and track tokens in-feed, effectively turning social posts into tradable assets.

ION confirmed that tokens created through PUMPit will be automatically tradable on Online+, and that tokens native to Online+ will also be accessible via PUMPit. The project described it as a unified system rather than separate products, with a single tokenization mechanism operating across both platforms.

“Our Chrome extension PUMPit is also launching on BNB Chain to give you yet another surface to launch, trade, and track tokens — directly on X! Extending our Tokenized Communities mechanics to X, tokens created PUMPit will be automatically tradeable on Online+, and Online+ native tokens will, likewise, be tradeable via PUMPit. One mechanic – double the fun,” the Online+ Bulletin reads

The extension is scheduled to launch later this month alongside Tokenized Communities. While some community members framed PUMPit in the context of memecoin culture, ION’s communications focused on infrastructure and interoperability rather than speculative narratives.

What Comes Next for ION?

According to the Online+ Bulletin, the current release enabling swaps and migration is considered the “big release” internally. In addition to headline functionality, it includes a wide range of quality-of-life fixes across the text editor, chat, feed, and profile sections, designed to support daily usage as user numbers increase.
Work on monetization features continues in parallel, encompassing both native Online+ mechanics and the PUMPit extension. The team indicated that these efforts will remain a focus immediately after migration, with no pause in development following launch day.
ION framed the coming weeks as an execution phase rather than an exploratory one, emphasizing delivery, stability, and responsiveness to user feedback.

Conclusion

This week marked a decisive moment for Ice Open Network as the migration moved from preparation to execution. With exchange trading halts confirmed, swaps launching on December 17, and regional support clarified, the technical and operational groundwork is largely in place.
At the same time, Online+ has undergone extensive stability improvements, while Tokenized Communities and PUMPit signal the next stage of development on BNB Chain. Together, these updates outline a platform transitioning from infrastructure buildup to active use, with clearly defined mechanics and timelines rather than open-ended promises.
