The Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) token plunged more than 45% from its recent weekly high following the sentencing of Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon. The token dropped to $0.00004587, marking its lowest level since December 5, and wiping out millions in market capitalization.

The sharp decline in LUNC's value coincided with the announcement of Do Kwon's 15-year prison sentence. The verdict exceeded both the five-year sentence requested by the defense and the 12 years proposed by prosecutors. The extended sentence followed the court's consideration of the significant financial damage suffered by token holders, who collectively lost over $40 billion during the 2022 collapse of Terra’s ecosystem.

The token had rallied earlier this month, climbing from a low of $0.00002488 on December 1 to a peak of $0.00008055 on December 6. However, the uptrend reversed quickly as market participants began to sell off in response to the news of the sentencing. The price has now dropped below the key support level of $0.000047, which previously served as the neckline in a double-top chart formation.

LUNC was not the only token affected. Other related digital assets, such as Terra (LUNA) and TerraUSD Classic (USTC), also registered steep declines. Together, they erased significant market value within days, showing the broader impact of Do Kwon’s legal troubles on the Terra ecosystem.

Despite the legal turmoil, the Terra Luna Classic project remains active under community governance. Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, continues to support the network by burning millions of LUNC tokens monthly. However, confidence in the token’s short-term trajectory appears shaken as technical analysis points to further downside risk, potentially toward $0.00002488.
