Bittensor (TAO) is moving into an key stage as its first halving happens on December 12, and traders are trying to understand what it will mean for the price.
The event cuts new supply in half, and that alone has pushed the TAO price back toward the $283 area after weeks of weakness.
At the same time, the whole market still feels shaky, so TAO keeps moving between small rallies and fast dips.
Even with that, the network keeps growing through new subnets, more revenue and new investment products. All of this is shaping how TAO sets up for 2026.

What the Bittensor Chart Is Showing Right Now

The zoomed-out chart shows the TAO price going through wide swings ever since its peak in 2024. After a long drop, the price started forming large ranges that keep acting as resistance every time TAO tries to climb.
The latest bounce from the $260–$280 zone shows buyers are still defending key areas, but TAO remains under the major breakdown levels from earlier in the year.
The TAO price sits around $282.34, holding between a wide support zone and a cluster of resistance areas above. The chart shows a clear structure with heavy selling pressure around $350 and a large demand zone near $250.
If TAO stays above this support after the halving, the next stop could be the mid-$300s. But a break under $250 would send it back into the deeper pullback zones from mid-2025. The halving now acts as the deciding factor.

Three Big Forces Shaping Bittensor Price Heading Into 2026

The halving creates the first major supply shock for TAO. Once the event passes, new tokens enter the market at half the previous rate, which can tighten supply quickly if subnet demand keeps rising. Inflation drops to about 1.3% a year, which is even lower than Bitcoin’s.
TAO is also moving toward deeper integration with the rest of crypto. With EVM compatibility rolling out, TAO becomes accessible to more developers, more apps and more DeFi platforms. That shift could open liquid staking, lending markets and cross-chain activity throughout 2026.
Another major factor is subnet growth. The new rewards framework ties emissions to measurable utility, meaning subnets that provide real output gain more stake and more rewards. In 2026 the strongest subnets, such as those focused on AI inference, prediction markets, and synthetic data, could drive the network forward and attract even more developers.
However, the network’s plans for 2026 focus on scaling decentralized AI, expanding cross-chain integrations and pushing the new rewards framework that values real utility.
The halving sets the tone for the first half of the year, while EVM expansion and subnet maturity shape the second half. If adoption grows at the pace the team expects, 2026 could be one of the most important years in TAO’s history.

How Much 100 TAO Could Be Worth by 2026

The Bittensor price in 2026 will depend on how the halving plays out, how fast subnets grow and how much demand comes from developers, institutions and AI markets.
If the network grows slowly, TAO may stay close to current levels. If adoption accelerates, TAO could break out sharply as supply tightens. And in a strong AI-driven market, TAO could reach much higher levels as it becomes one of the main assets tied to decentralized AI.
If the market stays weak, 100 TAO may be worth around $18,000 to $22,000. If things stay steady, the value could be closer to $32,000 to $42,000.
If demand grows after the halving and more people use TAO for AI, 100 tokens could rise to $60,000 to $90,000.
And in the most bullish case, where TAO becomes the main decentralized AI network, 100 TAO could go above $120,000.
Moreover, Bittensor is heading into a decisive year. The halving, EVM rollout and subnet growth all shape how 2026 unfolds.
The chart shows the TAO price trying to build a base, while the fundamentals point to a network that keeps expanding even through market uncertainty.
If these pieces continue moving in the right direction, TAO could enter a new phase of growth that looks very different from what we saw in 2025.
