In the volatile world of decentralized finance, few trades capture the market’s imagination like a well-timed short on an overhyped token. Hyperliquid’s native HYPE token, powering one of the fastest-growing perpetual futures exchanges, just handed savvy traders a 38% windfall—and it’s not over yet. Crypto analyst Crypto Patel (@CryptoPatel) nailed the setup last month, and his latest update on November , 2025, confirms the bearish thesis unfolding with surgical precision.Back on November, Patel flagged HYPE’s vulnerability after a blistering 500% rally over six months.

Analyst Crypto Patel’s Setup: Distribution, Unlocks, and Resistance Flip

“Early holders are exiting, support has flipped to resistance, and a clean distribution pattern is in play,” he warned, spotlighting a massive $500 million token unlock looming within 28 days. Fast-forward to now: HYPE entered the short at $50 following a textbook retest of key resistance. The price plunged to $29, stabilizing around $32 as of press time—a 38% drop that translated to ~190% profits on 5x leveraged shorts or straightforward 38% gains on spot sells.

Technical Breakdown: Trendlines, Zones, Volume Spikes & Price Targets

Patel’s TradingView chart tells the story vividly. A descending trendline from the September peak caps upside attempts, while red zones mark the short entry between $48-$51. Support levels at $32.89 (flipped prior high) and $28.32 hold for now, but the real fireworks target $23-$19, a potential 40% further slide from current levels. Volume spiked to 505K during the flush, underscoring conviction in the downside. “Both sides winning exactly as planned,” Patel quipped, urging conservative traders to book gains while high-rollers eye the abyss. This isn’t just a trader’s triumph; it’s a cautionary tale for Hyperliquid’s ecosystem. As a layer-1 blockchain optimized for perps trading with sub-millisecond latency, Hyperliquid has surged to over $3 billion in TVL since launch.

Hyperliquid’s Ecosystem at Risk Amid Token Inflation

HYPE’s airdrop in late 2024 minted millionaires, but unlocks and profit-taking expose the risks of rapid token inflation. With competitors like dYdX and GMX vying for dominance, this correction could test Hyperliquid’s mettle—will it innovate through governance upgrades via HYPE staking, or succumb to broader altcoin fatigue amid Bitcoin’s sideways grind? For now, the market’s verdict is clear: hype fades, but smart money thrives. As HYPE hovers near $32.50 (per CoinMarketCap), watch those supports closely. In DeFi’s high-stakes arena, precision like Patel’s separates the alphas from the bagholders.
