The cryptocurrency market is buzzing with excitement as Hedera (HBAR) surged 10% following the launch of its first U.S. spot ETF on October 28, 2025. Shared by crypto analyst Dan Gambardello on X, the news highlights Canary Capital’s HBAR ETF ($HBR) going live on Nasdaq, marking a significant milestone for altcoins.

This move follows the successful debut of Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF ($BSOL) and a Litecoin ETF ($LTCC), signaling Wall Street’s growing appetite for diversified crypto exposure. The HBAR price hit a multi-month high of $0.195, fueled by institutional interest and the ETF’s inclusion of staking yields.

Gambardello’s post also draws attention to the CCV risk model, which currently rates HBAR at 58—a level that previously triggered a breakout in January 2021. The historical risk chart shows a notable upward move at this threshold, suggesting potential for further gains if momentum holds. Despite a 0.9% drop in the past 90 days, the ETF launch and a 91.7% quarterly surge in stablecoin supply on the Hedera network indicate a pivot toward transactional use cases, bolstering its fundamentals.

Navigating Challenges: TVL and DeFi Weakness

However, the rally faces challenges. Low trading volume and a weakening DeFi ecosystem, with total value locked (TVL) dropping 55% since July, raise concerns about sustainability. Analysts suggest that holding the $0.165 support level is crucial, with a breakout above $0.185 potentially targeting $0.20. As Bitcoin hovers near $116,000, HBAR’s performance could hinge on broader market trends. For investors, this ETF debut opens a new era of accessibility, but caution is advised amid mixed technical signals and regulatory uncertainties.

The Hedera community is optimistic, with partnerships and network upgrades enhancing its long-term potential. As the crypto landscape evolves, HBAR’s ability to balance institutional adoption with retail engagement will be key to its next chapter.
