As MICHELIN celebrates the second anniversary of its entry into Web3, the company reflects on a project that has defied expectations. Since its launch on October 16, 2023, MICHELIN’s 3xplorerClub has quietly established itself as one of the few successful Web3 initiatives led by a global legacy brand.
Best known for its tires, road maps, and the prestigious MICHELIN Guide, the company has expanded its brand footprint with the 3xplorerClub: a curated collection of 2,400 NFTs offering access to exclusive experiences and limited-edition collectibles. Launched without fanfare, the project has built a committed community grounded in long-term engagement rather than market speculation.
Each NFT serves as a digital passport into the MICHELIN ecosystem, providing holders with opportunities to access unique events, from motorsport paddocks to MICHELIN Guide dining, and exclusive raffles. The initiative has resonated with both long-time MICHELIN followers and new Web3-native participants.
Two Years of Measured Growth and Real-World Impact
Unlike many corporate experiments in Web3, MICHELIN opted for a measured, utility-focused approach. This has resulted in sustained engagement and a growing global community:

900 active holders

Over 500 unique raffle winners to date

NFTs originally minted at $70 now trading around $300

Expanding footprint in Asia and the U.S.

Strategic partnerships with Pudgy Penguins, Yuga Labs, and World of Women

Token2049: Formalizing Partnerships and Community Recognition
At Token2049 in Singapore, MICHELIN announced a formal partnership between the 3xplorerClub and Pudgy Penguins. The brand also hosted a private dinner event in collaboration with OpenSea, welcoming holders and key figures from the broader Web3 ecosystem.
These efforts mark a continued emphasis on in-person connection and shared values between MICHELIN and its community.
A Model for Web3 Brand Integration
The 3xplorerClub’s success has been attributed to consistent communication, transparent engagement, and a clear roadmap. Regular AMAs, Twitter Spaces, and open community dialogue have helped establish credibility within an often-volatile sector.
In some Web3 circles, the project has drawn comparisons to other forward-thinking initiatives such as Sony’s Soneium, based on its cultural foundation and emphasis on long-term utility.
Looking Ahead: Expansion Through Experience
As MICHELIN enters its third year in Web3, the brand is preparing to unveil new partnerships and experiences that continue to connect the digital and physical realms. From fine dining to motorsports, upcoming experiences are designed to reinforce the brand’s identity while offering tangible value to participants.
The two-year milestone will be marked with a dedicated campaign on the official 3xplorerClub website, including new missions and community challenges. These will highlight MICHELIN’s broader strategy: merging tradition with digital innovation in ways that honor exploration, loyalty, and engagement.
