This immersive approach reflects a broader trend in the industry: combining professional development with unique experiences to strengthen connections and engagement. For example, blockchain projects increasingly host hybrid events that mix panels with hands-on activities, helping participants build relationships while exploring technology in action.

TOKEN2049 Day 1: Digital Shield, Hypersurface, and KuMining Make Waves

TOKEN2049 Singapore kicked off with major announcements highlighting innovation across wallets, DeFi, and cloud mining. The first morning set the tone for two days of insight, networking, and product reveals that showcase how the crypto ecosystem continues to evolve. Attendees were treated to announcements that blend security, yield generation, and industrial-scale mining, reflecting both the breadth and depth of innovation in the space.

1) Digital Shield Pro: Next-Gen Cold Storage

Digital Shield officially launched its flagship hardware wallet, Digital Shield Pro, debuting at TOKEN2049 Singapore. Designed with a CC EAL6+ secure element and air-gapped QR signing, the wallet ensures complete lifecycle key protection and offline transaction security. Features include dual transmission via QR and Bluetooth 5.2, a 3-inch touchscreen, NFT display, gas fee optimization, and compatibility with over 12 blockchains and 5,000 tokens.

With offices worldwide and a growing ecosystem, Digital Shield positions the Pro as a next-generation cold storage and wealth management hub. The company’s motto, “Your Crypto, Your Control,” emphasizes user sovereignty in an industry increasingly focused on security and seamless management of digital assets.

2) Hypersurface Brings Covered Calls On-Chain

Hypersurface unveiled its launch of covered calls on HyperEVM, introducing one of traditional finance’s most popular yield strategies fully on-chain. In conventional markets, covered calls handle billions of dollars monthly, but in crypto, the strategy has largely been restricted to over-the-counter desks. Hypersurface democratizes access, allowing users to earn higher yields on tokens like ETH, BTC, and HYPE while receiving premiums in stablecoins upfront.

Unlike opaque vault products, users control strike prices and timing, while collateral is deployed as DEX liquidity, deepening markets and generating yield. By making covered calls transparent, trustless, and permissionless, Hypersurface opens structured yield strategies to everyday investors, bridging a gap that has long favored institutions.

3) KuMining: Simplifying Cloud Mining

KuMining, incubated by KuCoin, showcased its vision for next-generation cloud mining at TOKEN2049. Under the theme “Simple Mining, Smart Gains,” the platform aims to democratize industrial-scale mining, offering transparent and verifiable hashrate access for both retail and institutional participants.

Cloud mining has become increasingly popular as miners look for cost-efficient ways to participate in Proof-of-Work networks without maintaining expensive hardware. KuMining’s approach highlights a trend toward accessible, scalable, and sustainable mining solutions that provide clear returns while reducing operational complexity.
