In a landmark move that underscores the growing value of crypto media platforms, AMBCrypto, a leading cryptocurrency news outlet headquartered in Estonia, has been acquired by a Dubai-based investment group in a multi-million dollar, 7-figure deal.
Founded in early 2018 by Jeevan Thomas and Himanshu Kumar with just $150 in seed capital, AMBCrypto was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: making cryptocurrency news accessible, reliable, and jargon-free. What began as a bootstrap operation run from a small apartment soon evolved into a globally respected news platform with over 30 million annual readers, a 30-member team spread across three countries, and syndication partnerships with major players like CoinMarketCap, Binance and Flipboard.
This marks the second successful exit for the founding duo, who previously sold their AI startup Opentools—also co-founded by both of them—in 2024 for a 6-figure sum. Like AMBCrypto, that venture was bootstrapped, scaled, and sold entirely without outside investment.
