Hester Peirce to tour U.S. cities for crypto outreach

Aims to improve SEC-crypto industry communication

Tour signals a more open regulatory approach

“Crypto Mom” Hits the Road

U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, known affectionately in the crypto space as “Crypto Mom,” has announced a multi-city tour aimed at directly engaging with crypto projects across the country. The initiative is seen as a rare and welcome move toward open dialogue between regulators and the blockchain industry.

Peirce has long advocated for regulatory clarity and innovation-friendly frameworks. With this tour, she intends to hear firsthand from developers, startups, and community leaders about the challenges they face in the current regulatory environment.

Peirce’s tour will cover key U.S. cities with active blockchain communities, though specific locations and dates are yet to be confirmed. Her focus will be on listening—gathering insights from those building decentralized protocols, Web3 apps, and crypto infrastructure.

This move could mark a shift in how regulators interact with the industry. Instead of top-down enforcement, Peirce’s approach leans toward transparency and collaboration. She has repeatedly voiced concern that the SEC’s current stance may be pushing innovation offshore.

“This is about finding common ground,” she said during a recent panel. “If we want to build a regulatory framework that actually works, we need to engage directly with the people building the technology.”

At a time when the U.S. crypto industry is under intense scrutiny, Peirce’s outreach tour is seen as a breath of fresh air. It may not change policy overnight, but it signals that at least one influential figure within the SEC is serious about working with the industry—not against it.

This initiative could set a precedent for more open, collaborative regulation in the future.
