Stablecoins are digital tokens pegged to real-world assets, usually the U.S. dollar, and serve as the backbone of many crypto transactions. Tether’s existing USD₮ has already become a global digital dollar, with a market cap exceeding $169 billion and daily volumes that surpass many traditional payment networks. It has nearly 500 million users worldwide, including people in underbanked and underserved communities.

USA₮ is designed to take this model further. Fully regulated under U.S. law and backed by transparent reserves, USA₮ will provide businesses and institutions with a compliant alternative to cash. The token will comply with the recently enacted GENIUS Act, ensuring strong governance and legal oversight. USA₮ will leverage Tether’s Hadron technology for tokenizing real-world assets, with Anchorage Digital serving as the issuer and Cantor Fitzgerald acting as reserve custodian. These partnerships aim to provide a fully regulated, transparent, and resilient stablecoin option for the U.S. market.

Bo Hines brings extensive experience at the intersection of law, policy, and business. As a former Executive Director of the White House Crypto Council, Hines has worked closely with regulators and financial innovators. His appointment signals Tether’s intent to launch USA₮ with strong U.S.-based leadership that understands American regulatory priorities.
