Leadership Shake-Up Halts Scroll DAO Governance

Scroll DAO, the decentralized governance arm of the Scroll ecosystem, has entered a period of uncertainty following multiple resignations and a full pause in governance operations. The situation was brought to light by Scroll DAO delegate Olimpio, who stated that the organization is currently in disarray and lacking direction.

Several key figures within the DAO’s leadership have stepped down, effectively stalling any decision-making or forward momentum. This sudden shift has sparked concerns within the community about the protocol’s decentralization and the strength of its governance framework.

Scroll Co-Founder Promises Redesign — But Offers No Timeline

In response to the growing concerns, Scroll co-founder Haichen attempted to calm the waters by saying the team is “redesigning governance.” While this acknowledgment signals that changes are underway, the lack of clear details or a roadmap has left the community in a state of confusion.

There has been no official announcement regarding the scope of the redesign, how long the pause will last, or what role the community will play in shaping the next version of governance. This ambiguity has led to fears that decentralization within Scroll may be weakening, at least temporarily.

The temporary collapse of Scroll DAO governance comes at a critical time when user confidence in on-chain governance is being tested across the crypto industry. Without strong leadership or transparent communication, Scroll risks losing community engagement—one of the core strengths of any decentralized project.

Unless concrete steps are taken soon to reestablish governance and restore trust, Scroll may face long-term reputational damage, regardless of its technical achievements.
