Ash Crypto noted that altcoins are now testing the same resistance zone that fueled the 2021 breakout. Doing so, the digital asset market was full of altcoin momentum and it was certainly clear that at this point the market had shifted to the bullish side.

Since then, the market capitalization of the altcoin has gradually and steadily grown between approximately 300 billion and more than 1 trillion (mid-2023).The continued increase indicates a buildup in investor involvement and growing accumulation periods.

Recent weekly chart formations suggest an ascending triangle, a pattern often viewed as a continuation signal. Multiple tests of resistance between $1.08 trillion and $1.16 trillion indicate persistent buying pressure.

Market Setup and Technical Outlook

The current setup shows altcoins holding near resistance while building strength. This performance steady has compelled us to speculate that the market was about to take a decisive action.

If buyers gain control above $1.16 trillion, analysts suggest a possible target of $1.4 trillion in the following months. However, repeated rejections could extend consolidation between $1 trillion and $1.16 trillion.

Momentum indicators remain key. Traders are monitoring RSI and MACD readings to confirm whether upcoming moves align with historical breakout signals. Sustained strength in these tools would strengthen the bullish case.

Fed Rate Cut as Possible Catalyst

The scheduled Federal Reserve rate cut on September 17 could act as a trigger for altcoin performance. Historically, lower rates have supported demand for risk-based assets, including digital tokens.

Ash Crypto emphasized that a favorable decision may provide the liquidity required to push altcoins above their multi-year ceiling. In 2021, a similar setup preceded rapid growth across the sector.

If the rate cut aligns with bullish sentiment invited by inflation, the altcoins may finally break take $1.16 trillion. If they cannot gather momentum, we could stay in consolidation until the environment shifts.
