Every week, we’ve got our ears glued to X, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to catch the posts that have everyone talking between Sunday and Friday. This social media roundup brings you the most trending posts, and heated takes lighting up our timelines, so you don’t scroll blind.

From sharp debates over #EFCC and Sujimoto to the unexpected viral moments shaking Nigerian feeds, we’re serving up a quick, punchy wrap of what’s got people talking online this week.

Salah the peacemaker

Liverpool is spending like there’s oil at Anfield, but Mohamed Salah is busy reminding fans not to forget the old guard. With Diaz gone, Isak in, and £446 million flying around, Salah’s post is basically saying: “Respect your elders.” Trust him to be the calm voice when fans are fighting over who’s shinier—new toys or proven heroes.

Boys ain’t playing no more

Oh, what a plot twist. A dude outsmarted a “pay-to-play” babe by showering his mom with cash instead, proving moms are the real MVPs. I bet that lady’s still wondering where her money rain went while he’s busy getting a high-five from Mama. Looks like the only number he’s collecting today is his mom’s secret jollof recipe.

The great “Last Supper” scam

This Ghanaian guy turned his “I’m gonna die” story into a free European vacation, dodging death dates like a pro magician. His followers paid for fancy dinners, only to realise he’s been living it up while they’re left with empty wallets and full bellies of regret. Now he’s claiming it was all a friend’s tale, nice try, dinner bandit.

Tragic loss sparks safety debate

The recent death of Ruth Otabor, sister of Nigerian star Phyna, in a Dangote truck accident has left many heartbroken and raised serious questions about road safety. Despite the company’s promises of medical care, her passing highlights potential gaps in emergency response, a concern backed by global reports on road traffic deaths.

People on X are now calling for better safety measures and accountability to prevent more tragedies like this.

Visa woes LOL

The U.S. Embassy turned Nigeria’s visa dreams into a comedy sketch. Professionals and families are stuck like they missed the punchline. Maybe they should send a clown instead of a diplomat to explain this “new information” mess. At this rate, we’ll need a laugh track to survive the airport detentions.

Davido vs. Tufab: Cult or cruise?

Oh boy, Davido turned Tufab’s DM into a Nollywood script with that “bird and aye” line. Next thing, we’ll see them fighting with feathers and axes on live TV. Tufab quoting the Bible like a pastor on defence is the funniest plot twist, as if God’s about to send angels to settle this beef. At this rate, their fans might start a comedy skit war instead of a real one. Please, let’s keep it laughs, not lashes.

Haha, so after begging us to switch to CNG with sweet talk and free conversions, the government now says, “Oya, pay NGN450, subsidy don travel!” Next thing, we go hear say we need to start paying tax for the breeze we dey breathe.

Doctor scam or Doctor sham?

Haha, this “Asexual Doctor” turned out to be more of an “A-scam-ual Doctor,” collecting millions like he was selling jollof rice on the side. With all those chat screenshots, it’s clear he ghosted faster than a danfo driver dodging LASTMA. Now, let’s hope he uses that suspension from UniJos to learn a real trade, maybe akara frying, since medicine didn’t work out.

Straight to the museum

Someone tried selling vintage treasures online – two stubborn hot plates, a wooden dining set that’s seen more rice than Jollof pots, and a cane chair set with pillows. Then one sharp user replied, “…everything here belongs to the museum.” Honestly, they’re right, because who’s still rocking a cane chair in 2025?

Sujimoto speaks up

The EFCC has formally declared Sijibomi Ogundele, the man behind Sujimoto Luxury Construction, wanted for alleged money laundering and diversion of funds. In response, he appeared in a heartfelt video insisting he’s “not a thief or fugitive,” attributing the fallout to a failed contract with the Enugu State government, and saying he plans to go to the EFCC to clear his name.

Chaos at Mabushi

What began as a simple stop to pick up a wife ended in horror at Mabushi Bridge, Abuja, when agberos forced their way into a man’s car, sparking a struggle that led to a fatal crash. The couple lost their lives, while the injured touts were dragged out and burned by an angry mob. Two tragedies collided that day, reckless lawlessness and brutal street justice.

Hakimi the street baller

Achraf Hakimi paused his journey to the national team camp just to kick ball with some kids on the street. Sweet moment, but imagine if that happened in Nigeria, the crowd would triple before the first pass. Between agberos, fans, and beggars, even Hakimi no go see ball to touch again.

A man asked how to tell his girlfriend she’s gaining weight, and someone suggested buying her old dress size as a gift. That’s not advice, it’s a suicide mission. Because if the dress doesn’t fit, it won’t just be the fabric tearing, it might be the relationship too.

Favour Ofili is swapping Nigeria’s green and white for Turkey’s red crescent, and fans are split. One response captured the frustration: “This country only supports thieves and criminals, hard work does not pay here.” It’s not just a career move, it’s a mirror of how talent feels pushed out.

That viral post about paying ₦500 tax on every ₦10,000 petrol spend from January 2026 is false. The so-called “new” surcharge has actually been in Nigerian law since 2007 but was never enforced. Until the Finance Minister officially sets a start date, nobody is paying that extra tax.
