Spot Ether ETFs in the US hit a rough patch on Friday, with $59.3 million flowing out after an eight day hot streak that pulled in $3.7 billion, according to Farside data.
This came right after Ether came super close to its 2021 peak of $4,878 on Thursday, missing it by just 1.94% before slipping to $4,448, per CoinMarketCap.
Since launching in July 2024, these ETFs have racked up $12.68 billion in total net flows, showing they’ve got some serious fans despite this hiccup.

The end of this inflow run is a big signal, and traders will be watching to see if the money starts pouring back in. They’re also looking at whether big Ether treasury companies keep buying, as that could push Ether past its old high.
Nansen’s Jake Kennis says steady inflows are a must for Ether to keep climbing. Crypto trader Langerius is even bolder, saying if the inflows hold up, Ether could shoot to $10,000. Another trader, Merlijin The Trader, said Thursday that the ETF action looked like “institutional FOMO,” meaning big investors are jumping in fast.

Ether’s price is up a solid 29.63% in the last 30 days, but it’s not getting as much love on social media as Bitcoin, according to Santiment. That’s actually a good sign, it often means Ether could do a bit better than Bitcoin soon.
Meanwhile, Ethereum’s staking world is stirring, with 877,106 Ether, worth $3.88 billion, waiting to be unstaked. That sounds like some traders cashing out, but DeFi analyst Ignas says buying from ETFs and treasury firms is holding off the selling pressure. With ETF flows, price swings, and staking moves in play.
