The USA-based video gaming and consumer electronics company, GameStop (GME) has announced that its board of directors has unanimously approved an update to its investment policy which now allows the company to allocate a portion of its treasury reserves to Bitcoin. 
As per the <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/03/25/3049165/0/en/GameStop-Announces-Update-to-its-Investment-Policy-to-Add-Bitcoin-as-a-Treasury-Reserve-Asset.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">GlobeNewswire release</a>, this move from GameStop marks a significant shift in the company’s financial strategy as it looks to diversify its holdings. The firm currently holds over $4.75 billion in cash, though it has not specified how much will be allocated to Bitcoin.
