However, he also admitted that it’s a tough job. With many different teams, developers, researchers, and local groups each trying to contribute in their way, finding common ground can be tricky. Buterin believes there are already some “starting points” to help with this challenge.</p>
<p>One of the first metrics he suggests is how <a href="https://www.altcoinbuzz.io/?s=open+source" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">open-source</a> a project is. Open source means that anyone can look at the code to check for security issues. This openness not only keeps the project safe but also prevents a situation where only one company controls it. It allows others to suggest improvements, ensuring that the project can grow and adapt over time.</p>

<p>Buterin also talks about <a href="https://www.altcoinbuzz.io/?s=interoperability" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">interoperability</a>, which is about how well different applications and wallets can work together. He suggests rating projects based on which ERC tokens they are compatible with. ERCs are a set of standards that allow tokens to work on the Ethereum network, and this compatibility can help create a smoother user experience.</p>
<h5><strong>Making a Positive Impact</strong></h5>
<p>Another important area Buterin wants to focus on is <a href="https://www.altcoinbuzz.io/?s=decentralization" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">decentralization</a> and security. He mentions two tests: the “walkaway” test and the “insider attack” test. The walkaway test checks what happens if someone leaves the project. The insider attack test looks at how much damage could be done if someone on the team tried to attack their system. These tests can help ensure that the project is robust and secure.</p>

<p>Finally, Buterin believes that projects should be evaluated on how positively they affect the Ethereum community and humanity as a whole. For instance, projects that improve financial access or create new ways to fund public services can have a big impact.</p>
