<a href="https://ultramining.com/en/manufacturers/bitmain/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitmain</a> has unveiled its new ASIC miner, which is 81.81% faster than the previous model, the <a href="https://ultramining.com/en/hardware/antminer-s21-200-ths/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Antminer S21</a> XP Hydro. The new miner delivers a performance of 860 TH/s (terahashes per second), significantly surpassing the previous benchmark of 473 TH/s. This increase in power could have a substantial impact on the Bitcoin <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/texas-residents-challenge-bitcoin-mining-industrys-impact-on-power-grid-and-communities/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">mining industry</a>, allowing for more efficient cryptocurrency mining.
Bitmain's miner performance has grown significantly since the release of the first Antminer S1 in 2013, which delivered only 180 GH/s (0.18 TH/s). Over a decade, performance has grown by an impressive 477,677%. The new miner could boost the overall computational power of the Bitcoin network, which reached a record 693 EH/s (exahashes per second) in September 2024.
Experts believe that Bitmain's new miner could shift the balance of power in the industry, providing miners with more efficient tools to compete in the market.
