On the contrary, Monero advertises itself as a private and secure cryptocurrency. In contrast to Monero’s credibility, the video that was circulated suggests that Chainalysis might have been recording transactions dating all the way back to the year 2021.&nbsp; 
A pseudonymous Reddit user, u/__lt__, shared details about the video, claiming it revealed how the company could use its own Monero nodes to gather data from various geographical locations. 
According to the user, Chainalysis may have collected transaction information, including IP addresses and timestamps, by operating a large number of Monero nodes.&nbsp;

These nodes, combined with “decoy” inputs, could reduce the anonymity of Monero users. This method allegedly allows Chainalysis to trace certain transactions, a possibility that has unsettled many in the crypto community. 
Despite the growing concern, some Monero users believe there is no immediate reason to panic. Chainalysis could have the ability to track particular purchases, but for a large number of users, Monero’s underlying privacy traits are unharmed. 
However, Chainalysis has faced an enormous amount of controversy as an outcome of the leaked video, with many people criticizing the ethical standards of operating these nodes at all.Chainalysis has not said anything about it.&nbsp; 
The business declined to respond when questioned about the leaked footage or the allegations that were made against it.&nbsp;
