On Monday, Metaplanet Inc., announced a strategic alliance with SBI Group, a partner of Ripple Labs, the industry leader in cryptocurrency payments. The Bitcoin trading, custody, and management collaboration between Metaplanet and SBI VC Trade has begun. This is an exciting step toward the widespread use of cryptocurrencies and future partnerships that are interdependent.
The Japanese company <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/japanese-firm-metaplanet-adds-another-%c2%a5500m-worth-of-bitcoin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Metaplanet</a> and the SBI VC Trade unit of the <a href="https://www.sbigroup.co.jp/english/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SBI Group</a>, a behemoth in the Japanese financial services industry, announced their strategic alliance on September 2. The corporations have come clean about their partnership as an initiative to interact with influential Japanese industry players in order to bolster their Bitcoin accumulation strategy.

According to the Japanese firm, the agreement will open doors to a corporate custody service that is compliant, which will help with tax efficiency and the possibility of using <a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/bitcoin-miners-face-revenue-drop-in-august-amid-rising-difficulty/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Bitcoin</a> as collateral for further funding.
Metaplanet CEO <a href="https://www.crunchbase.com/person/simon-gerovich#:~:text=Simon%20Gerovich%20is%20the%20President,Simon%20Gerovich%20attended%20Harvard%20University." target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Simon Gerovich</a> said that the partnership with SBI Group would first focus on Bitcoin custody and trading. He went on to say that it offers flexibility to their business strategy, complements its continuing efforts in equity and debt financing, and coincides with their aim of becoming a contemporary financial services provider.
Subsequently, the business will additionally disclose any significant events or effects on financials that result from this collaboration. Metaplanet has 360.368 bitcoins, which were bought for 3.45 billion Japanese yen at an average price of 9,573,556 yen, as previously reported.
Along with Ripple and other partners, SBI Group is actively growing its footprint in the cryptocurrency business. The two businesses have joined forces to improve supply chain management, open up new remittance corridors, and develop mobile payment apps.
