The Taraba State government, in partnership with the Algorand Foundation, has successfully trained around 100 young Nigerians in blockchain technology and software development.&nbsp; 
According to <a href="https://punchng.com/100-youths-in-taraba-acquire-blockchain-skills/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">local reports</a>, this training program lasted for a week and was wrapped up on Sunday. 
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, who was represented by Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali said that the state is ready to work with any organizations that aim to enhance the skills of its youth. 
He mentioned that such collaboration is important to improve the state’s competitiveness in technology, which in turn would add to the growth of the nation 
“Our administration is ever prepared to collaborate with any organization that can enhance the skills of our youth in technological innovations because we cannot afford to be left behind in technological advancement”, he said. 
The Commissioner for Digital Economy and Innovation, Gideon Nonso, who signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Algorand Foundation on behalf of the state, mentioned that Taraba is the second state in Nigeria, after Plateau state, to benefit from this type of training. 
Nonso also announced that the state has plans to establish a technology village, which will further support technological development in the region.
