Unlike other memes, DOGS is rooted in a narrative that focuses on charity and community involvement. The project finds its inspiration in Spotty, a character created by Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, according to the DOGS Telegram announcement channel.

Spotty’s origins trace back to a charity auction, where an illustration of the character was sold to raise funds for orphanages. Over time, Spotty evolved into a symbol of altruism, featuring in VK stickers, making public appearances, and even embarking on a symbolic space journey. This legacy of charity and community forms the foundation of DOGS, linking the coin closely with values of generosity and social good.

DOGS distinguishes itself through its integration with the Telegram platform. Leveraging Telegram’s extensive user base, DOGS rewards tokens to users based on the age and activity of their accounts.

Within a few weeks of its launch, the DOGS project amassed over 15 million members in its Telegram channel, with many actively participating in its "Game" app to earn tokens through various activities.

The DOGS project aims to serve the Telegram community while upholding Spotty’s legacy of charity. Continuing in the spirit of the mascot, the project dedicates 100% of the revenue from Spotty-themed gifts to supporting orphanages and children’s homes.

DOGS tokens are distributed based on several criteria, including the age of a user’s Telegram account, their subscription status, and their OG status, which recognizes long-standing, active users.

For instance, older Telegram accounts receive more DOGS tokens, incentivizing users to maintain long-term loyalty to the platform.

Telegram Premium subscribers are also rewarded with additional tokens, enhancing the appeal of the premium service. OG status acknowledges the dedication of long-time users by granting them extra tokens.
