<p>In an August 23 blog post, the Bored Ape Yacht Club, through its ApeCoin X account, teased plans to launch the second season of their non-fungible token collection-themed streetwear collection. The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) x BAPE NFT-themed collection are slated to the market this coming September 2024. But what should the community expect in Season II?</p>

<h2 id="what-is-bayc-nft-dao">What Is BAYC NFT DAO?</h2>
<p>Established in 2022, Bored Ape Yacht Club, also known as ApeCoin DAO, is a decentralized autonomous organization created for the Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club non-fungible token collection holders. Bored Ape is a non-fungible token collection featuring a limited edition of 10,000 NFTs, while Mutant Ape is a collection featuring a fixed supply of 20,000 NFTs hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network.</p>
<p>The Bored Ape Yacht Club DAO features the native and governance token ApeCoin ($APE). The APE token was released under the guidance of the BAYC DAO and with administrative oversight by the APE Foundation. Ape is a fungible ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum blockchain network, and a portion of the supply was airdropped to BAYC and MAYC NFT collection owners.</p>
<p>During the Ape token launch, each holder of a BAYC NFT was able to claim 10,094 APE tokens (worth more than $100,000 at the time), while each holder of a MAYC could claim 2,042 APE (worth more than $20,000 at the time.) $APE gives holders voting rights to contentious matters within the BACY ecosystem, including the recent plan to launch own blockchain network, ApeChain.</p>
<p>The Bored Ape Yacht Club DAO governs the regulation of ApeCoin, the native token of the BAYC-inspired ecosystem, and it consists of all holders of the APE token. The BAYC DAO’s governance votes are enacted by the APE Foundation, which administers the day-to-day operations and management of projects supported by the community. In March 2024, the APE Foundation shared 6.3 million $APEs to return more power to the people.</p>
<h2 id="bored-ape-yacht-club-and-bape-integration">Bored Ape Yacht Club And BAPE Integration</h2>
<p>Bored Ape Yacht Club first announced its collaboration with the iconic Japanese streetwear brand BAPE in September 2023. At the time, the BAYC and BAPE jointly launched a line of streetwear collections, including Bored-themed hoodies, mesh caps, and sneakers. Since its inception in 1993, BAPE has been an influential player in streetwear and fashion. BAYC and BAPE anticipate launching another set of NFT-themed streetwear collections this coming month.</p>
