<a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/cleanspark-doubles-down-on-bitcoin-mining-with-55m-expansion/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">CleanSpark</a>, Inc., a leading Bitcoin mining company, reported its third-quarter FY2024 financial results, showcasing significant growth despite substantial financial challenges. The company achieved a revenue of $104.1 million, representing a remarkable 129% year-over-year increase. However, the quarter was marked by a net loss of $236.2 million, attributed to strategic upgrades and market volatility, according to <a href="https://investors.cleanspark.com/news/news-details/2024/CleanSpark-Reports-Third-Quarter-FY2024-Financial-Results/default.aspx" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Cleanspark</a>.
CleanSpark's decision to replace a large portion of its mining fleet ahead of schedule, aiming to maximize long-term efficiency, contributed to this loss. Despite these challenges, CleanSpark's current hashrate exceeded 22 EH/s, reflecting a 24% increase during the quarter. The company also maintained strong gross margins despite the Bitcoin halving, which reduced block rewards by 50%. CleanSpark managed to offset most of this impact, reporting only a 7% decline in revenue from mining 1,583 Bitcoin during the period.
Additionally, CleanSpark announced a new partnership with Coinbase, securing a $50 million line of credit backed by its Bitcoin holdings. This move is aimed at leveraging market opportunities at a low cost of capital. The company's total assets reached $1.48 billion, with $413.0 million in Bitcoin holdings and $129.2 million in cash, reinforcing its strong balance sheet. CleanSpark's leadership emphasized that these strategic steps position the company for sustained growth and profitability in the evolving Bitcoin mining landscape.
