A new meme coin has emerged and caught the market’s attention with rapid price growth. It’s called Neiro Ethereum and is based on the OG doge meme coin.

Based on that, it already stands as one of the 20 most valuable meme coins.
CoinMarketCap data reveals it has gained 49% in value today and over 1,200% since 29 July, when it began tracking the NEIRO price.
The project has also booked impressive trading volume, totalling over $36 million in the past 24 hours.

However, it’s not all good news – analysts are concerned about a potential scam.
But before we look at that, let’s outline what exactly Neiro Ethereum is.
According to its website, Niero is “The sister of the OG DOGE, Kabosu, here to make history on the Ethereum chain!”

Quite like Dogecoin, there is no apparent utility to the Neiro Ethereum token.
While this is common for meme coins, it does increase the likelihood of a scam.
Think of it this way: if a team creates utility and innovative features, it’s more likely they plan on staying for the long haul.

Blockchain sleuth Wazz was among the first to raise concerns, saying it is a “honey pot.”
A honey pot is a crypto scam where investors cannot sell their tokens.
Wazz says Neiro Ethereum uses an advanced extension of this scam that goes undetected to most tests.

However, there remains strong community support on social media.
For instance, prominent analyst Hydraze just backed Neiro for 5x gains to his 90K followers.
Looking at the tweet replies, no one mentioned being unable to sell their NEIRO tokens.
