One of the world’s largest financial powerhouses, Cantor Fitzgerald, which boasts a $13.2 billion valuation, is poised to make a significant entry into the<a href="https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-lummis-calls-for-us-to-buy-1-million-btc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> crypto market</a>, as the firm recently unveiled plans to delve into Bitcoin-backed lending on a grand scale.&nbsp;
According to the firm’s <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/cantor-fitzgerald-to-launch-bitcoin-financing-business-302208093.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">announcement</a>, the strategic move involves the launch of a specialized Bitcoin financing business aimed at providing leverage to investors who are holding Bitcoin, marking a substantial step towards integrating traditional finance with the digital asset landscape.

With a substantial initial financing injection of $2 billion, the firm envisions substantial growth for this venture in the near future, underlining a strong commitment to expanding its presence in the cryptocurrency<a href="https://bitcoinist.com/crypto-whales-scoop-up-426000-ethereum/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> finance sector</a>.
Howard Lutnick, the Chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, expressed enthusiasm regarding this new venture, emphasizing the firm’s experience in arranging and financing vast amounts of securities and commodities, highlighting their staunch support for BTC.&nbsp;
Lutnick articulated the firm’s mission to establish a “cutting-edge platform” that caters to the financing needs of Bitcoin <a href="https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-hashrate-all-time-high/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">investors</a>, recognizing the pivotal role such services play in unlocking the full potential of Bitcoin. Lutnick further stated:

<h2 id="us-government-transfers-2-billion-in-bitcoin">US Government Transfers $2 Billion In Bitcoin</h2>
In a separate development, data analytics platform Arkham spotted a significant $2 billion Bitcoin move from the US government to a new address in the early hours of Monday, <a href="https://x.com/ArkhamIntel/status/1817962145985724629" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">according </a>to on-chain data.&nbsp;
Arkham’s findings suggest that this $2 billion Bitcoin transfer likely represents a 10,000 BTC deposit into an institutional custody or service provider. Bloomberg ETF expert James Seyffart <a href="https://x.com/JSeyff/status/1817976693249986577" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">hinted </a>that this transfer could be the result of the US Marshals Service’s decision to partner with Coinbase to safeguard and manage its extensive digital asset portfolio.
This partnership, <a href="https://bitcoinist.com/coinbase-bags-32-million-contract-from-doj/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">reported </a>by Bitcoinist in early July, is expected to streamline the custody, management, and disposal processes for the government’s cryptocurrency assets.&nbsp;
The arrangement will reportedly allow for greater diversification in the types of digital assets that can be professionally handled and liquidated under the government’s forfeiture programs.
Last month, the US Marshals Service recognized the need for reliable storage and liquidation techniques to manage and dispose of large quantities of popular cryptocurrency <a href="https://bitcoinist.com/hk-lawmaker-to-include-bitcoin-in-reserve/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">assets</a>, known as Class 1 cryptocurrencies, which ultimately led to the selection of Coinbase.
