This establishes a “floor” price and generates revenue from unused or potentially wasted energy.It claimed it could operate without government subsidies or payments, utilizing all available stranded or wasted energy.“Bitcoin mining is the perfect technology to solve the issues we face in the viability of our energy ambitions, and it currently has zero large-scale penetration in the UK market.”Bitcoin mining is already being utilized as a flexible load in Texas. Miners offer a flexible load that can be quickly turned off to meet grid needs and restarted once the demand decreases.This report offers a potential solution to address the challenge of making the UK’s energy security strategy targets commercially viable.
