The Cardano-powered sci-fi shooter game Chronoshot was added to the wishlist on the Epic Games Store on Tuesday, marking a remarkable step for the game developer and the ADA ecosystem. Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, <a href="https://x.com/IOHK_Charles/status/1810767795602477172" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">expressed</a> his excitement about this important milestone, stating, “Cardano Games on Epic makes me happy.” 
<h2 id="cardano-based-gaming-is-coming">Cardano Based Gaming Is Coming</h2> 
Chronoshot <a href="https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/chronoshot-faq-aca100" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">introduces</a> a novel game mechanic where time only progresses when the player moves. This allows players to actively strategize, place shots and plan moves against the opponent, increasing the tactical depth of the game. The game is currently in the early access stage and available for wishlisting on the Epic Games Store, which is one of the leading digital distribution platforms in the <a href="https://bitcoinist.com/blockchain-powered-gaming-the-gaming-industrys-next-step/" target="_blank" rel="noopener ">gaming industry</a>. 
The development company, RFLXT, shared details about the game’s early access launch through a series of posts on X. They announced, “Big news! Chronoshot is now available for wishlisting on Epic Games joining Chains of War &amp; Flux Point Studio. We’re launching FREE early access to give more people ways to check out the game &amp; our platform over the next few months of development.” 
The move to open beta, as opposed to traditional closed beta, is part of a broader strategy to involve the community directly in the development process of the game to improve transparency and user feedback. “We want as many people as possible to see what we’re doing, so we’re going straight to open beta/early access instead of closed beta,” the company wrote. 
RFLXT also plans to integrate its platform more deeply with Epic Games. This integration will allow players to use a single RFLXT account across both platforms, facilitating features such as crossplay and seamless gameplay continuity. Moreover, the company launches a beta for their platform http://RFLXT.com with Chronoshot, “some partner Cardano games and Digital Double teaser pages before end of summer &amp; will be showing it all off with demos at RareEvo.” 
Chronoshot’s utilization of the Cardano blockchain includes <a href="https://bitcoinist.com/nfl-dez-bryant-chainlink-dynamic-nfts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener ">dynamic NFTs</a> that provide new leveling mechanisms for characters, which are accessible to all players, including those who do not wish to engage with blockchain technology. Notably, these NFTs do not offer competitive advantages to ensure that game balance is maintained. 
The Early Access version of Chronoshot features two single-player modes, Time Attack and Survival, both with leaderboards. RFLXT plans to introduce a <a href="https://bitcoinist.com/how-web-3-technology-takes-play2earn-mining-games-to-the-next-level/" target="_blank" rel="noopener ">multiplayer</a> mode shortly after the launch of the Early Access version to test and refine these features further based on user input. The developers have not yet set a specific release date but aim to release Chronoshot in full by the end of 2024.

As for the Cardano blockchain integration, no external wallet is required to play Chronoshot, although users will have the option to connect an external wallet to their RFLXT account. This flexibility is aimed at appealing to both blockchain enthusiasts and traditional gamers. The game will remain free at its full launch, with certain in-game items, such as skins, available for purchase. These items are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay. 
At press time, Cardano traded at $0.383.
