Billy (<a href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/billy" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/billy" target="_blank" rel="">BILLY</a>), a dog-themed meme coin on the Solana (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/solana/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/price/solana/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">SOL</a>) blockchain, has surged over 44% in the past 24 hours.&nbsp; 
This rally is a continuation of the coin’s impressive performance following its <a href="https://crypto.news/new-memecoin-billy-hits-key-milestone-as-price-soars/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/new-memecoin-billy-hits-key-milestone-as-price-soars/">listing</a> on several major crypto exchange platforms in June. 
According to the <a href="https://dailyhodl.com/2024/07/05/solana-based-memecoin-defies-market-downturn-jumps-over-30-in-24-hours-amid-listing-on-multiple-exchanges/" data-type="link" data-id="https://dailyhodl.com/2024/07/05/solana-based-memecoin-defies-market-downturn-jumps-over-30-in-24-hours-amid-listing-on-multiple-exchanges/" target="_blank" rel="">Daily Hodl</a>, BILLY’s value jumped significantly since exchanges like Bittrue, Bitget, MEXC, and Gate.io announced their support for the asset earlier in the week.&nbsp; 
On July 5, BILLY was trading at $0.1659, marking a 36% increase from the previous day. Just a few days earlier, on June 26, BILLY was valued at only $0.0286. 
At the time of writing, CoinGecko priced the <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/memecoin/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/tag/memecoin/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">meme coin</a>, which was launched in June and features a puppy as its mascot, at $0.1862. It marked a 44.7% jump from its July 5 levels and brought BILLY’s market capitalization to $189.5 million.

The coin’s value has skyrocketed 254% in the two weeks since it went live, with similarly robust gains recorded over different time frames. For instance, in the last 7 days, the price of BILLY went up by more than 192%, meaning it outperformed the global crypto market, which is down 7.40%.&nbsp; 
Furthermore, BILLY has continued to outperform other well-known tokens in its category, with the broader meme market registering a 10.80% dip, according to CoinGecko.&nbsp; 
After experiencing significant drops, assets like Dogecoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/dogecoin/" target="_blank" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/price/dogecoin/" rel="noreferrer noopener">DOGE</a>), Shiba Inu (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/shiba-inu/" target="_blank" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/price/shiba-inu/" rel="noreferrer noopener">SHIB</a>), Bonk (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/bonk/" target="_blank" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/price/bonk/" rel="noreferrer noopener">BONK</a>), and dogwifhat (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/dogwifhat/" target="_blank" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/price/dogwifhat/" rel="noreferrer noopener">WIF</a>) have also turned green in the last 24 hours. Dogecoin was up 9.8% at the time of writing, while Shiba Inu was also up 14.7%.&nbsp; 
On its part, <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/bonk/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/tag/bonk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bonk</a> registered a 10% uptick, accompanied by a 24-hour trading volume of $397 million. WIF had the best performance of the major meme coins, jumping 16.4% in one day to trade at $1.64.&nbsp; 
However, over a 30-day period, most of these meme coins lost significant portions of their value while BILLY soared. For example, Bonk shaved off more than 32% of its price in that period, while <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/dogwifhat/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/tag/dogwifhat/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dogwifhat</a> went down 40.6%. Shiba Inu also lost more than 38% of its value, while the Dogecoin price went down 33%.
