Of course, Nvidia graphics chips can be used for more than video graphics in computer and console gaming. They work very fast and because of their design, graphics processing units (GPUs) are more efficient at visual and spatial processing than central processing units (CPUs).
These chips keep track of where things are on the road for autonomous or driverless vehicles– smart cars that drive themselves– using the information from cameras and other sensors, similar to how human brains do with the sensory data from our eyes and ears when we drive.
They’re also going to be pretty important to virtual reality (or metaverse, whatever Zuckerberg wants to call it), medical imaging, computer-aided engineering and design, and deep learning for AI.
Why are Nvidia’s chips so valuable?
Because GPUs process inputs using parallel processing (scalable up to supercomputing capability) rather than linear processing like CPUs.
That’s very much like how the 3-dimensional mesh of neurons that comprises animal neocortices works to process visual information in the brain!

When ChatGPT and OpenAI wowed the world last year with large language model AI chatbots, investors were so inspired it became a dominant investing narrative on Wall Street.&nbsp;

Without an economic system of incentives (think scarcity, supply and demand, and currency), AI could waste everything our civilization gives it in a day just as fast as a Lambo’s 5.7 liter V12 burns up all the gas in your tank just to roar down the road loud.
