<p>A cryptocurrency investor has fallen victim to a devastating phishing attack, resulting in a loss of approximately $11.1 million. The incident, which occurred just five hours ago, has sent ripples through the crypto community and highlighted the ongoing security risks in the digital asset space.</p>
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="details-of-the-attack">Details of the Attack</h2>
<p>According to <a href="https://x.com/lookonchain/status/1804714691677274563" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain</a>, the unfortunate investor was exploited for two significant holdings:</p>
<ol>
 <li>3,657 MKR tokens, valued at $8.7 million</li>
 <li>2.56 million PT Ethena tokens, worth $2.4 million</li>
</ol>
<p>The attacker wasted no time in liquidating the stolen assets. The 3,657 MKR tokens were swiftly sold for 2,502 ETH, equivalent to $8.7 million. This large-scale sell-off had an immediate impact on the MKR token price, causing it to plummet by 7%.</p>
