The <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/bitcoin-price-drops-below-40000-amid-market-uncertainty/" data-wpel-link="internal">cryptocurrency</a> exchange BtcTurk experienced a cyber attack. As a result, unauthorized withdrawals occurred from the exchange. BtcTurk announced that these withdrawals were immediately detected. It is stated that this incident only affected the hot wallets of 10 cryptocurrencies. The exchange assures that the majority of assets are held in cold wallets and are secure. Additionally, cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal operations have been temporarily suspended.

In a statement made by BtcTurk, the following remarks were included:

 “Our team detected a cyber attack on June 22, 2024, which caused unauthorized withdrawals on our platform. This incident only affected a portion of the balances in the hot wallets of 10 cryptocurrencies, while the majority of assets held in our cold wallets are secure. This indicates that the assets of most of our users are safe and there is no need for concern. 
 The amount affected by the cyber attack did not harm user assets thanks to BtcTurk’s <a href="https://finance.coin-turk.com/" data-wpel-link="exclude">financial</a> strength. Our company’s financial situation is robust enough to withstand such attacks, and we guarantee that our users will not experience any losses. This assurance reflects BtcTurk’s commitment to its users’ value and security. 
 Our team immediately launched detailed investigations following the incident and is working to identify the source of the cyber attack. Additionally, we are cooperating with official authorities and meticulously following legal processes. This cooperation is an important step towards preventing similar incidents in the <a href="https://newslinker.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpel-link="exclude">future</a>. 
 As a precaution, cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal operations on our platform have been temporarily halted, prioritizing the security of our users. Our teams are working intensively to reactivate these operations as soon as possible and are taking all necessary measures to prevent any inconvenience to our users during this period. Users will be informed once the reactivation process is completed.
