The Haris Poll’s survey, on behalf of Grayscale, highlights the increasing popularity and adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins among voters in the run up to the presedential elections. Political engagement, legislative time and regulatory focus are hyping up crypto this election season.
47% of American voters expect to invest in crypto to enhance their portfolio.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-harris-poll-s-survey-on-the-bitcoin-election-strong">Harris Poll’s Survey on the ‘Bitcoin Election’&nbsp;</h2>
Harris Poll completed its phase 2 survey on behalf of Grayscale. The survey was organized with 1,768 adults between April 20 and May 2, 2024, and recorded the same priorities and attitudes of voters toward BTC and cryptocurrencies.
At press time, BTC was hovering in the bullish zone at $68,207.84 after a spike of 0.56% intraday with a market cap of $1,344,788,004,415.

Results of the phase 1 survey suggests voters are focused on BTC due to inflation, geopolitical tensions, and USD’s volatility. Phase 2 showed that inflation and the state of the economy emerged as major pressing problems in the US.

Income irregularities and fake news/ misinformation were of the least concern among survey participants. Approximately 47% of American voters expect to include crypto in their investment portfolio.
Crypto remains a bipartisan issue despite the active engagement from both camps. However, 73% of the voters think presidential candidates should have an informed perspective on cryptocurrency, AI, and advanced technologies.

Comparin the results of both phases cleraly shows that interest in<a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/05/28/mt-gox-transfers-9b-bitcoin-ignites-market-speculation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> Bitcoin </a>and other cryptocurrencies was on the rise. Inflation continues to remain among the focus areas for investors.
In the same way, individuals expecting crypto in their future portfolio also spiked from 40% in the phase 1 survey to 47% in phase 2. Also, a sudden surge was recorded in the BTC price compared with previous elections, indicating the expanded roots of cryptocurrency.

In the 2020 election, BTC was hovering between $10K and $30K, whereas in the 2024 election, BTC was trading between $60K and $70K. Several reasons, like spot Bitcoin ETF, Bitcoin halving, and regulatory actions, have not only captured more attention, these also attracted many new investors.
