Some users have even shared harrowing accounts of personal hardships, including a tale of kidnapping, torture, and brainwashing. 
However, not all on-chain messages are filled with despair. 
In a heartwarming turn of events, a cryptocurrency whale transferred 0.5 Ether — worth $965 at the time — to help someone’s ailing child. 
The grateful recipient expressed their profound thanks and wished good health and luck to the donor. 
Other messages include a memorial tribute to a mathematics professor and avid traveler, and a user teaching his girlfriend how to write an on-chain message, potentially introducing her to the crypto community.
