Eight Spot Ethereum ETFs were authorized by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (<a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/sec-approves-spot-ethereum-etf-marking-a-new-milestone-for-eth/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SEC</a>) on Thursday, May 23, 2024, marking a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency sector. Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama of Shiba Inu was one among many who reacted to this news. Additionally, the developer suggested big ecosystem enhancements coming soon and hinted at the prospect of a Shiba Inu (<a href="https://thenewscrypto.com/shiba-inu-shib-smashes-11-week-resistance-sets-sights-on-0-000081/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SHIB</a>) ETF.
Kusama congratulated the <a href="http://ethereum.org" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ethereum</a> community on the milestone on X. More than that, he hinted at a future Shiba Inu ETF. He asked, “Does this pave the way for #SHIB?”

The lead developer further mentioned, “I’ll let you decide… I’ll stay focused on what we have coming. #STAYTUNED.” In addition, it suggests that they have several upgrades planned, which boosts faith in the SHIB ecosystem even more.
Furthermore, this remark has sparked conjecture among the Shiba Inu army, implying that the meme coin may launch its own exchange-traded fund (ETF), similar to Ethereum. It was surprising that the SEC would approve the Ethereum ETFs, considering how inactive the agency has been in communicating with issuers recently. The CBOE, NYSE Arca, and NASDAQ are among the main exchanges that will offer these ETFs. Additionally, it will open Ethereum to a broader spectrum of investors.
Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) will not be able to begin trading until issuers get clearance for their S-1 registration statements, even though the 19b-4 filings have received regulatory approval. Bloomberg analyst <a href="https://twitter.com/JSeyff?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">James Seyffart</a> pointed out that, while it’s possible to speed things up to a few weeks, it usually takes at least three months.&nbsp;
