The international arm of Hong Kong’s HashKey crypto exchange has added SOL to its basket of supported assets.
International crypto exchange <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/hashkey/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">HashKey</a> Global, launched by HashKey Group, is expanding its list of supported assets by adding Solana (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/solana/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SOL</a>) in a bid to attract more customers around the globe.
In the latest <a href="https://support.global.hashkey.com/hc/en-us/articles/14102761649308-New-Listing-on-HashKey-Global-Solana-SOL" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">press release</a>, the exchange said it will launch spot trading for the SOL/USDT pair on May 24 at 10:00 (UTC). The latest addition expands the list of supported assets on HashKey like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Dogecoin (DOGE) among others. The trades are not available for users in the U.S. or China though. Despite the news, SOL is experiencing a nearly 8% decline in value, currently trading at $163, as per CoinGecko’s latest data at press time.

Hong Kong’s HashKey Group <a href="https://crypto.news/hong-kongs-crypto-exchange-hashkey-goes-global-with-bermuda-license/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">launched</a> the international version of the crypto exchange in early April in an attempt to expand its offerings on a global scale. Later, in an interview with the media, HashKey Group COO Livio Weng <a href="https://crypto.news/hong-kong-faces-uncertainty-as-licensed-crypto-exchanges-eye-oversea-expansion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">shed</a> light on the motivations behind this expansion, saying “the local market is not that big,” and adding that the regulatory burden in the region “blocks a lot of global users […].”
Looking ahead, Weng <a href="https://www1.hkej.com/dailynews/finnews/article/3730630/%E4%BB%8A%E5%B9%B4%E5%86%8D%E5%81%9A%E6%96%B0%E8%9E%8D%E8%B3%87+%E9%87%91%E9%A1%8D%E6%88%96%E8%B6%85%E4%B8%8A%E8%BC%AA" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">outlined</a> the company’s ambitious plans to secure additional funding to bolster its international business initiatives. While specific details regarding the funding remain undisclosed, reports suggest that HashKey is in talks with potential investors, with projections hinting at a funding round exceeding the $100 million mark achieved in its previous Series A financing.
