David Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer of Ripple, narrowly escaped a sophisticated phishing scam aimed at accessing his Apple ID. Scammers, armed with his email and phone number, orchestrated a faux Apple support case to lend credibility to their ploy.&nbsp; 
They followed up with SMS messages that closely mimicked official Apple communications, utilizing authentic email templates and website designs. 
Despite the convincing facade, Schwartz recognized the scam, identifying it by the poorly written messages that were inconsistent with Apple’s standard communications. His quick discernment highlights the increasing need for vigilance, even when dealing with seemingly legitimate requests for information.
